Rajkumar Hirani desires to collab with Ranbir Kapoor again: "There are a few scripts and we are in touch"

Renowned filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, known for his remarkable films, has expressed his desire to collaborate with Bollywood's talented actor, Ranbir Kapoor, once again. The duo previously joined forces for the critically acclaimed Sanjay Dutt biopic, "Sanju," in 2018, and their partnership left a lasting impression on both audiences and the box office.

In a recent interview with India Today, Rajkumar Hirani shared his sentiments about working with Ranbir Kapoor, describing him as an "absolute sweetheart." Reflecting on their previous collaboration in "Sanju," which garnered widespread praise for Ranbir's stellar performance, Hirani expressed his enthusiasm for the prospect of teaming up with the actor once more. He stated, “I would definitely love to do another film with him. There are a few scripts with me, and we are in touch. So let’s see where this goes."

The director highlighted the organic process of script development, acknowledging that sometimes ideas take unexpected turns. Hirani explained, "Sometimes, it happens that you start writing a particular script, and it doesn’t go anywhere, and then you start another one, and it becomes something. So yes, I love Ranbir (smiles).”

Ranbir Kapoor has recently been enjoying the success of his film "Animal," which reportedly earned ₹541.87 crore nett in India and grossed ₹885 crore worldwide since its release on December 1. The film's remarkable performance at the box office adds to Ranbir's impressive portfolio and makes him an even more sought-after actor in the industry.

The previous collaboration between Rajkumar Hirani and Ranbir Kapoor in "Sanju" not only set the cash registers ringing but also garnered critical acclaim. Speaking about the film, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir's girlfriend at the time, expressed her admiration in 2018, saying, “I really liked it. It is a fantastic, fabulous, and an outstanding film. I think in my top 10 best film list, Sanju is high up there."
