Bollywood actor R Madhavan has all the reasons to be on cloud nine as his son recently grabbed all eyeballs for breaking a national junior record at a swimming competition. At the 48th Junior National Aquatic Championships, his exceptional swimmer son Vedaant won the 1500m freestyle to take home the gold medal.
Meanwhile, the Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein actor took to his social media as he cheered for his son's special win. Being a proud parent, Maddy shared the video of his son's winning moment and wrote,
“Never say never. (Folded hands, red hearts and hug emojis). National Junior Record for 1500m freestyle broken”.
The video featured the actor's son Vedaant swimming, as the commentator said, “Around 16 minutes, he has broken Advait Page’s record at the 780m mark. I did not expect him to do it but he picked up his pace beautifully.”
For the unversed, in 2021, the teenage athlete began the year with a bronze medal in the 1500-meter freestyle event at the Latvia Open international competition. In October, he earned seven podium places in the Junior National Aquatic Championships.
Vedaant maintained the pace into 2022, winning gold and silver medals in the 800 and 1500 meters of the Danish Open swimming. The latter's achievement was his first-ever top podium result at a global competition.
Talking about the actor's work front, Madhavan most recently appeared in "Rocketry: The Nambi Effect." It is an Indian biographical drama on the life of scientist Nambi Narayanan, marking Madhavan's directorial debut. The film released on July 1 2022 and received a positive response from all quarters.
