"Anchoring is also a part of acting," says Shantanu on turning host for 'Love On The Run'

In a heart-to-heart conversation, the actor opens up about his new project and his successful feat at Asian Battle Ground.

Shantanu Maheshwari, the winner of Colors' reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi: Pain In Spain, is all set to make his debut as a host with MTV's upcoming show, Love On The Run. His crew Desi Hoppers also bagged the third position at Asian Battle Ground, which was definitely a huge achievement.

We at India-Forums got in touch with him, and asked him a couple of questions.

Talking about his successful feat at the Asian Battle Ground, he said, "It feels great because you know... not lot of crews from India have performed there and reached so far. There is great exposure and great experience in terms of competitors from other countries. And seeing the level of performances, it was really amazing as it was the first time we actually performed in the battle ground and battle together, we haven't done that before."

"Overall, it was really nice, there were a lot of hindrances, but ultimately it turned out to be a good show. Everyone appreciated it, the judges appreciated it, so that really means a lot," he added.

Talking about Love On The Run, Shantanu said, "The makers approached me and they thought I might do a decent show, and when they told me what the show is all about and how we will be working on it, I found it interesting. I have been acting in such kind of episodic shows so it is a really good opportunity for me."

Quizzed if he ever saw himself venture into anchoring, he said, "I just feel that this is a part of your acting thing, we are performers, and so we are supposed to dance at times, act at times, anchoring is also a part of acting, the confidence, the things that you do because everyone has their own flavour to add."

Asked if he has been doing anything to prep up for the shooting ahead, he said, "I have been doing a lot of gargling (laughs). Well, I make sure that I know the story well enough and I can emote things into it by connecting to the stories."

There have been many such similar shows in the past, and comparisons are bound to happen. Asked what does he think about it, he said, "Well, that is something I can't really do anything about and that is something that we always do. But, I just feel that every show has its own uniqueness, and quality. The purpose and crux of the show are completely different, the way of story telling, and everything is very different despite being episodics."

Sending out a message to the fans, he said, "First of all, I want to thank them for the immense support they have showed throughout Asian Battle Ground and yes, I am trying something new, and I hope you guys like it and I do well."
