Nishant Dahiya on Nushrratt lead 'Akelli': I had a strong sense that Rafiqs's role would leave a strong impact

Actor Nishant Dahiya, who played Roger Binny in Ranveer Singh's 83 is now all set for the theatrical release of his highly anticipated film Akelli, where he will be starring opposite Nushrratt Bharuccha. This much-awaited movie, skilfully helmed by director Pranay Meshram, promises an enthralling cinematic journey and is slated for a theatrical release. 

Akelli stands as a blend of drama and thriller, tracing the path of an average Indian girl caught within the clutches of a conflict-ravaged landscape, wherein her battle for survival takes centre stage. Nishant who plays the role of Rafiq takes on the persona of an unassuming, middle-class man. 

Recently the actor joined India Forums in a candid conversation and talked about his character Rafiq in the film 'Akelli'. When asked, "Despite having a lesser screen time 'Rafiq' was a character that made quite an impact in the film especially owing to his support to Jyoti and how their story ends on a bitter yet sweet note."

Responding to this he said, 

"During the script narration itself, I had a strong sense that Rafiqs character would leave a strong impact on the audiences making them connect with him deeply. My main goal as an actor was to evoke emotions of empathy, love, and support for Rafiq. The overwhelming messages I've received from people expressing their feelings for Rafiq have been incredible."

He added, 

"There's a sense of unresolved emotions between Rafiq and Jyotis character, unspoken words that linger. It's almost as if people yearn for their love story to find closure."

'Akelli' is slated for a nation-wide theatrical release on 25th August 2023.
