Music Review: Badlapur

BollyCurry heard the curiosity that the album generated amongst our readers and decided to give it a listen. Here are our thoughts regarding this album.

This month, coming to theaters near you is the Varun Dhawan starrer Badlapur. Directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Sunil Lulla, Badlapur is the story of a family man who sets out to take revenge after being wronged. Along with Dhawan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Yami Gautam, Huma Qureshi, Divya Dutta and Radhika Apte complete the cast.

Badlapur consists of 5 songs, all written by Dinesh Vijan
and Priya Saraiya. Sachin-Jigar composed the songs, with Badlapur being their first album for this year. BollyCurry heard the curiosity that the album generated amongst our readers and decided to give it a listen. Here are our thoughts regarding this album.

The album opens with "Jee Karda", a song which has already won the hearts of music lovers and reached the top ten chart buster song lists around the country including our own Music 'N' Masti where it stands at the fifth position. Divya Kumar sings the song with flair, emoting the pain the hero felt with his voice effortlessly. And the music makes you want to jump up and start dancing. If the song is yet to impress you, Varun Dhawan's acting and dance in the music video will definitely make you go crazy for this song. And if "Jee Karda" has paved the way into your heart, then be sure to check out its Rock Version. While it is not as phenomenal as the original, it does have its own charm.

The next song in line is "Jeena Jeena". BollyCurry need not say more about this song, because we are sure that our readers have already downloaded the song onto their mobiles and/or music players and have listened to it numerous times by now. Standing first in our recent edition of Music 'N' Masti, "Jeena Jeena" has Atif Aslam singing after a year of silence and his voice continues to weave its magic amongst us. The song is soothing to the ears and makes you sway to its music. The lyrics are also quite delightful to hear. If you are yet to hear this song, you are missing out on something great. "Jeena Jeena" also has a remix version but it is not something you would play at parties. Nonetheless, it is a good song to hear!

Last song in our review is "Judaai". Sung by Rekha Bhardwaj and Arijit Singh, "Judaai" is a soft and slow song. Bhardwaj, known for her high pitch vocals, manages to surprise us by rendering the song in low pitch at the beginning and reaching her normal pitch by the end. Complimenting her vocals is Singh's high pitch voice, making this song a treat for the listeners. Take time to give this song a try too, as it is as amazing as the songs mentioned above!

Sachin-Jigar have delivered to us listeners a fantastic album, with lovable lyrics and foot tapping music. And hence, we give this album 4.5 out of 5 stars and urge every one of our readers to try it once!

Badlapur is releasing in theaters near you on 20th February! If you are Varun Dhawan's fan or a lover of action films, book your seats now! Till then, check out the above songs, listen to it and enjoy! And don't forget to leave your comments here! We, at BollyCurry, are eager to hear what you think about this album!
