Recently, Uday Chopra took to Twitter to express his views on legalizing Marijuana in India. He took to Twitter and addressed Marijuana as a "part of our culture", further adding, "it has a lot of medical benefits."
He tweeted, "I feel India should legalize marijuana. Firstly, It's part of our culture. Secondly, I think if legalized and taxed it can be a huge revenue source. Not to mention it will remove the criminal element associated with it. Plus and most importantly it has a lot of medical benefits!" He even went on to clarify that he didn't himself use it.
As always, our Mumbai Police had a savage reply for Uday. They were quick to acknowledge his tweet and make him understand the rules and regulations of the Country.
Replying to Uday's tweet, Mumbai police wrote, "Sir, as a citizen of India, you are privileged to express your view on a public platform. Be mindful, as of now, consumption, possession, and transportation of marijuana invites harsh punishment as per the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act,1985. Spread the Word."

Guns are illegal, corruption is illegal, there are loads of illegal black money, there are illegal constructions i don't see Police being SAVAGE with them. They didn't need to respond "savagely" which obviously wasn't, because they sound very uneducated. Marijuana has two separate uses of it. One which is for recreational use, (which everyone is worried their shit about) (even in USA). and then there is medical use, which has nothing to do with first one, because it comes in form of OIL, Tincture, Balm and Pills. There are scheduled 2 medicines being sold in many medical stores in india, without anyone verifying the credentials of doctors and or checking up with people taking them. These medicine has loads of ingredients which are much more harmful if taken for long period of time. Biggest example is cough syrup, which doctors give to children and adults. Then comes Acetaminophen which is very common prescribed medicine, has many harmful side effects.

Honestly, I dont see why they had to give a reply to him. He just expressed his views and said he wants it to be legalized. He didnt even encourage anyone to take the drug. The reply wasnt savage, it was just stupid and unnecessary.

There's nothing wrong with what the Police said. If its against the law its against the law, as of now. Medical Marjuana use in the United States is only legalized in a few select states. Otherwise, its pretty much used as a street drug.
