Mukesh Khanna rejects Ranveer Singh as Shaktimaan; deletes video amidst controversy

Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna, renowned for his iconic portrayal of the superhero Shaktimaan, recently stirred up headlines with his take on the rumored Shaktimaan project involving Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh. Khanna had initially shared his thoughts through a YouTube video and later reposted the same content on his Instagram account. 

However, Khanna has since removed both the video and the social media post, sparking curiosity among fans.

The deleted video, in which Khanna discussed the speculated Shaktimaan movie, attracted significant attention before its removal. The actor addressed the ongoing rumours surrounding the casting of the reported superhero film, particularly the potential involvement of Ranveer Singh. Despite the widespread speculation, no official confirmation regarding the project has surfaced.

Khanna's recent social media post shed light on his stance regarding the casting speculation. Expressing his discontent with the ongoing rumours, Khanna firmly stated his opposition to Ranveer Singh portraying Shaktimaan. Mukesh said that an individual with a certain image, regardless of their star status, could not embody the iconic superhero character. 

In addition to his social media post, Khanna released a video on his YouTube channel further elaborating on his views. In the video, he criticized Ranveer Singh for a magazine photoshoot featuring nudity, expressing disappointment with the actor's statements regarding the shoot. Khanna went on to suggest that Ranveer explore opportunities in countries where such nudity is more accepted. 

The reported plans for Ranveer Singh to begin shooting for Shaktimaan after completing Don 3 had generated significant buzz in February. Despite the script reportedly undergoing three years of development to ensure fidelity to Shaktimaan's legacy, the project's future remains uncertain amidst Khanna's recent statements and actions.
