ALTBalaji- ZEE5 series Baarish 2 which premiered on  6th May received a great response from the fans. Anuj and Gauravi's beautiful chemistry was once again loved by the viewers. We at India Forums got into a conversation with Actor Manit Joura who talked about his experience, working with Jeetendra Sir, his character and much more.

First of all, Baarish has received such a great response from audience, how's the feeling? Did you expect such response?

I have been getting a lot of messages on Baarish. People are loving it, people are liking my character, Anuj, Gauravi and Jeetu Ji in the show. So the overall package is very beautiful in the show. So, I'm glad that I was a part of this show.

How was the shooting experience, was it different from season one or was the same?

It was one of the finest experiences that I've had because it's so beautiful to be a part of Nandita Mehra's any project. She's such a darling. Working with Jeetu Ji, working with Sharman, Asha, it was a treat for an actor to work in this atmosphere. Everyone was happy, everything is scheduled, everyone is so punctual, so organized. It was fantastic. I was really loving every day. A lot of work, we used to finish in a day. In our free time, me Sharman and Asha, we all used to play ludo, chitchat about our lives, acting, in general about social media, about everything. I'm glad that Sharman sir made us comfortable. I had a lot of scenes with him, so the way he made us comfortable is just fantastic.  I had a lovely time.

You also spoke about Jeetu sir, so how was it having him around on the sets?

I keep meeting him every now and then. He is always very generous. He's like a child on sets. He loves to be on sets. I'll tell you one incident, on the last day that we spent on sets, until the lunch was announced by the director, he didn't leave. He was just there. He is so fun, he narrated a lot of stories. He likes a lot of people, a lot of actors to just sit with him and then he narrates the stories. He sings a lot. He is too fun, I don't know from where he got to know that I sing, so he caught me and said that I've heard that you sing. I was like no sir but then he was like don't lie, I've heard it and then he made me sing. Then I asked him to sing and he was like if I sing, everyone will run away. He's such a fun guy to be with.

Did you face any challenges in portraying the role?

No, I completely left everything on the director. If she likes it, we keep it. If she doesn't like it, we go for the second shot. Everyone is so cooperative, there's no question of it being a challenge. Yes, ofcourse, on the very first day when you go on sets, you are a little anxious because you don't know, because you are offering your sensibility to the character. So sometimes, you are a little anxious and you kind of tend to think that whether or not will the director like the shot, you're not sure about it.

But as in when you grow, when the story moves further, when you share a repo with you director and your co-actor, you slowly realise that how beautiful it is to share everything with them. Sometimes, there are days, you quickly get it and sometimes you take 2-3 takes to get in the mood. But overall, it was a beautiful experience and it was a wonderful team to work with. No hassles like that, it was absolutely fun.

In fact we were doing a live chat and I said that 'Nandita Mehra is a director, if she even asks me to do one scene for her, I'll still do it. Because she is such a brilliant Director. I know that even in that one scene she'll take my performance to a whole new level.'

Lastly according to you what's the one best thing about your character that you discovered while shooting?

I kind of figured that there is not one way of portraying any character. When Nandita Ma'am narrated the character to me, I said okay, I didn't question her because I got it clear and when I was performing I kept asking her if I can add something because I didn't want to make my character one dimensional. So I liked that she gave me the freedom to experiment and we tried to keep the character a little happening. As I'm playing a lawyer in the series, you have a typical image of a lawyer. But we tried to keep the character happy because the flavour of the show was like that, very happening and very simple. Simplicity is the best thing. The more you keep it simple, the better it comes out.
