Mahesh Babu's emotional thank you as Kamal Haasan pays tribute to late father's legacy

In a touching ceremony, Kamal Haasan recently unveiled the statue of the late actor Ghattamaneni Krishna, father of Mahesh Babu. Mahesh took to Instagram to express his gratitude, sharing a video of the heartfelt event.

The video captures Kamal Haasan, donned in a blue T-shirt and sunglasses, unveiling the statue with reverence. He then garlanded the statue and warmly acknowledged the fans gathered at the venue with a smile, folded hands, and a wave.

Mahesh Babu's caption reads, "Heartfelt gratitude to @ikamalhaasan sir and #DevineniAvinash garu for gracing the inaugural event of Krishna garu's statue in Vijayawada. Truly honoured to have them unveil Nanna garu's statue, a homage to the legacy he left behind!"

Expressing appreciation for the fans, Mahesh added, "Also, a big thank you to all the fans from the bottom of my heart who made this event possible. (Folded hands emoji) Humbled by all the love (black heart emojis)." His daughter Sitara also shared the clip on her Instagram Stories, writing, "Miss you Thatha garu (red heart emoji)."

The statue unveiling, led by Kamal Haasan and East Constituency YSRCP in charge Devineni Avinash, took place in Guru Nanak Colony.

For the unversed, Ghattamaneni Krishna, renowned for his contributions as an actor, producer, and director, appeared in around 350 films. Awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2009, he made his entry into Telugu cinema with Thene Manasulu in 1965. Krishna passed away on November 15, 2022, in Hyderabad, leaving behind a rich legacy in the world of cinema.
