Maa-Beti make an entry to rock Vishkanya's world

Zee TV's Vishkanya, a modern-day fairytale romance, has captivated audiences with the impossible love story of Apu aka Aparajita Ghosh (Aishwarya Khare) and Malay Mittal (Vin Rana). 

In the episodes ahead, veteran actor Himani Shivpuri will be seen playing the character of Renu and her daughter Vardaan will be played by a newbie, Prachi Sinha. 

The mother-daughter duo will squabble and quarrel but will be inseparable nonetheless. 

Actor Himani Shivpuri shares, "My character of Renu is an extremely jovial person. Her sense of humour is loud yet harmless and she is a loving mother. Both mother and daughter share everything with each other but there is one secret that Renu has hidden from her daughter - the fact that she is an adopted child. She fears the repercussions it will have if her secret is ever made public. Though she is always joking around, her biggest worry is how her daughter will react if she were to find out that she is adopted. Renu has no boundaries when it comes to behaviour and demeanour, and ends up embarrassing her daughter often."

Prachi, who makes her big debut on television with Vishkanya said, "I am really excited to play Vardaan. She is a bubbly chatterbox and full of life. She dotes on her mother. My track will involve much light and humorous moments and her energy and positivity will light up any situation. Though she is a confident and intelligent girl, she goes totally weak in the knees whenever she sees Malay. She falls for Malay at first sight but backs off when she gets to know that he is engaged to Apu. However, there is a twist in store for the audience that I can't reveal yet. I have just begun shooting for the show and I am totally loving it. It's my honour to share screen space with industry veterans like Himani ji and Rohini Bannerjee. Hope the audiences like me as Vardaan and also enjoy the new twist that lies ahead on the show."

Malay and Apu are busy with their engagement preparations but with the entry of Vardaan, the love story is clearly set for a twist. 

Will the show now see a love triangle between Malay, Apu, and Vardaan? Will the impossible love story see a happy ending or is there another curse ready to cast its shadow on their lives?
