In the latest episode of the iconic talk show, Koffee With Karan Season 8, the dynamics took an unexpected turn as Bollywood stalwart Ajay Devgn and acclaimed filmmaker Rohit Shetty engaged in a heartfelt conversation with host Karan Johar. Delving into the less-explored facets of their family histories, the trio found common ground in their shared lineage of fathers who braved immense hardships to carve a niche in the unforgiving realm of the film industry.

Amidst the glitz and glamour, Ajay Devgn addressed the prevalent discourse on nepotism, emphasizing the arduous journey that generations before them had undertaken to establish themselves. "People don't realize that the generations have worked very, very hard to reach till here. It's not an easy story," Devgn remarked.

Drawing from personal experiences, Ajay vividly portrayed the struggles faced by pioneers like his father, recounting how individuals would migrate to Mumbai with a one-year timeframe to make it in the industry. If a project failed to materialize, they would persistently approach production houses every six months in pursuit of opportunities. "30-40 saal nikal jate hain. Chahe aap industry ke ho ya na ho, struggle to sabke liye barabar hai, hard work to karna hi padta hai," he reflected, highlighting the universal nature of the entertainment industry's challenges.

In a poignant revelation, Rohit Shetty shared the untold narrative of his father, MB Shetty, a multifaceted figure in the 70s as a stuntman, action choreographer, and actor. Rohit's father passed away when he was just 8-9 years old, leaving his mother, Ratna Shetty, to shoulder the responsibilities. Ratna, herself a former stunt artist, returned to the industry to support her family, working as a junior artist until Rohit gained financial independence at the age of 17.

As the talk show unfolded, it became evident that behind the glittering façade lies a tapestry woven with sacrifices, perseverance, and unyielding determination.
