Kwk 8: Vicky Kaushal reveals he met Katrina's family a week before their wedding

In a candid revelation on the latest episode of Koffee With Karan 8, Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani shared insights into their romantic journeys. Kiara spilled the beans on Sidharth Malhotra's proposal during a holiday in Rome, where he used lines from Shershaah to pop the question. 

On the other hand, Vicky Kaushal opened up about his less dramatic but heartfelt proposal to Katrina Kaif.

Contrary to grand gestures, Vicky disclosed that he proposed to Katrina just a day before their wedding, revealing, "It was very last minute." The intimate moment occurred during a dinner in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, the chosen wedding destination. Vicky humorously mentioned that he had received warnings about the consequences of not proposing earlier.

The Sam Bahadur actor also said, "I had been warned by everybody that if you don't propose, it's something you'll have to be prepared for the rest of your life that you got to hear about it. I did that one day before the wedding. It was dinner just before any of the friends and families could come".

Vicky further detailed the unique circumstances, revealing that due to the challenges posed by COVID, he met Katrina's mother, Suzanne Turquotte, and siblings just a week before the wedding. Recalling the encounter, he said, "I couldn't meet them for two years because of COVID. So, I met them for the first time, literally a week before marriage. We had a party at my place and we were all drinking and dancing."

In a delightful twist, Vicky recounted the moment when the "ice was broken" during the gathering. "Instantly, we saw something in each other and just connected. Two hours into meeting each other and we were dancing on the floor to Tip Tip Barsa Paani in the first meeting. The ice was broken, melted and gone."

Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, after a two-year courtship, tied the knot in December 2021. The couple hosted grand wedding festivities in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, with an intimate ceremony attended by close family members and a select few friends from the film industry.
