We are back with our weekly round up of sartorial spottings as seen on some of our most loved Bollywood celebrities. While these fashion seers were doing their job of sporting stylish looks we were doing our work of creating this listical of what as per us are fashion nails and fails. Scroll down to check out our take....
Alia Bhatt in a head-to-toe bandhni suit designed by Sabyasachi. We know our country’s fashion genius created this ensemble but our creative brains say some sort of a breaker would have helped with the monotony of this outfit. Think a white and green ombre dupatta and not this same fabric from the suit. Other than that from Alia’s neatly pulled back hair, Sabyasachi Jewels chaandbalis to golden platform heels everything is spot on. Kudos!
Janhvi Kapoor in a quintessential Manish Malhotra design, a blingy sequence replete 6-yards, accompanied by a skimpy choli. Janhvi styled it with another blingy beauty, a pair of diamond earrings. She looked bomb! Staying true to her inherent style, Janhvi kept her makeup fresh and dewy while her voluminous hair blow-dried and casually swept on a side. Crossing our saree expectations!
Kareena Kapoor in Ellie Saab. Kareena who was in Delhi this week sported this classic black jumper, accentuated with diamond jewellery. Keeping her look fuss free, Bebo opted for a low bun. Her look defined timeless elegance and came in time as we need new a style inspiration for new year’s eve celebrations.
Katrina Kaif in Tarun Tahiliani creation. A diamond and stone filled saree design, accompanied by an embroidered, strappy choli. Katrina styled it with a pair of diamond and pearl earrings and her standard bouncy big curls. She looked like a real beauty and set a stylish example for the wedding festivities.
Ranveer Singh in Sabyasachi ensemble. Ranveer spelt fun, vintage, stylish, rad and retro all at the same time. Sporting paisley on the bottoms and frills and delicate polka on the shirt we also felt the outfit was setting a perfect example of fluid dressing and Ranveer was doing full justice to the ensemble.
Sonam Kapoor in a Masaba X Rhea Kapoor creation. A 90s favourite front knot crop and matching skirt filled with texts and abstract print. Keeping up with the vibe of this coord set, Sonam opted to keep her hair tousled and carefree. As for makeup she let her lips be dazzling with a clean sweep of red. While style desk is a fan of Masaba’s creations, Rhea’s style aesthetics and the way Sonam carries anything she wears, this look fails to become a hit with us.
Ananya Panday in neon green jacket and pants by the international brand Oh Polly, styled by neon hair pins, silver hoops and pink strappy stilettos. While the entire look was colour coordinated to the t, the same reason that there was too much of it makes a bit of a bummer. Sorry Ananya but this one is not a hit!
Kiara Advani in a Pankaj And Nidhi creation. While the citrine yellow colour of the gown is fab and so is the rose appliqué work on the gown, but all put together just doesn't seem to look appealing. We like seeing Kiara turn heads in classic pieces as compared to something quirky like this. This is a sure miss!
