Kareena Kapoor advocates talent over physique: "Please wear your T-shirt, I can’t even look at you"

In a recent interview Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor shared her candid views on the evolving dynamics of stardom in the film industry. Emphasizing the importance of being a good actor to truly become a star, Kareena expressed her satisfaction with the industry's current focus on talent rather than just physical appearances.

During the interview, Kareena Kapoor, without naming anyone, dismissed the notion that having six-pack abs is the sole criterion for achieving stardom. She stressed that genuine talent and acting prowess are the key factors that resonate with audiences, asserting to Film Companion, "If you are great, talented, and people have liked you, connected with you, stardom will follow." Kareena went on to challenge the notion that a chiseled physique alone can elevate someone to star status, humorously suggesting, "Sometimes, I feel like telling those actors, 'Please wear your T-shirt first. I can’t even look at you right now.'"

Drawing from her experience, Kareena acknowledged that the industry has come a long way, and being a good actor and a big star now go hand in glove. The actress cited her cousin Ranbir Kapoor as a 'phenomenal actor,' further underscoring the significance of acting prowess in achieving lasting stardom.

In a noteworthy example, Kareena praised Bobby Deol for his recent career choices, commending his decision to explore diverse characters. According to Kareena, Bobby's ability to adapt and showcase his talent is a testament to the fact that genuine actors will always find opportunities to shine. Bobby, who was part of the interview, echoed Kareena's sentiments, emphasizing that finding roles to showcase one's talent remains the most challenging aspect for an actor.
