Karan Johar opens up about buying bras for his mother: It's never been a problem to me

In a candid revelation during a recent press conference, renowned filmmaker Karan Johar shared an interesting anecdote related to his latest release, "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani." The movie has been making waves for a particular scene involving a bra shopping episode between Rani's mother and the protagonist, Rocky.

When questioned about the scene, Karan Johar was asked if he had ever purchased a bra himself. To everyone's surprise, the director admitted that he had indeed bought bras for his mother in the past. The revelation shed light on the filmmaker's progressive upbringing, nurtured by his open-minded and forward-thinking mother.

For Karan, discussing such topics was never considered taboo in his household. He expressed that being the only child, he was raised with an understanding that it was perfectly normal and natural to participate in activities like shopping for intimate apparel for his mother. However, he acknowledged that his friends, who accompanied him during one such shopping trip, were taken aback by his involvement in the matter.

Karan's friends had suggested that he delegate the task to a female friend, but he saw no reason to shy away from doing something that was entirely natural for him. His decision to personally buy a bra for his mother was met with some discomfort and raised eyebrows. Despite this, Karan remained steadfast in his belief that there was no reason to create an unnecessary distance from such a fundamental aspect of life.
