Karan & Farhan to host opening night of MAMI
The Film Festival organized by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI), opens today with two brilliant emcees lined up for the first evening.
According to our source, "Farhan Akhtar and Karan Johar will be hosting Day 1 of MAMI. Both of them have proved how well they can entertain the audience by crafting some fine movies as well as through their chat shows. Undoubtedly the duo will do a good job and will help MAMI's efforts in reaching the standard of international film festivals."
Adds the source, "The jury includes Sri Lankan director Vimukthi Jayasundara, Paul Schrader, Shaji Karun, Brillante Mendoza from the Philippines (whose extra-violent film Kinatay is in the festival line-up) and Irene Bignardi from Italy."
The 11th MAMI Festival opens today with Steven Soderbergh's The Informant based on a novel written by Kurt Eichenwald starring Matt Damon.
