I’ve known Tina and Sreejita for years; would like to support Sreejita De for ‘Bigg Boss 16’: Ishita Ganguly

Bigg Boss 16 is back and along with the new season; new controversies have also started to brew.

Across seasons the rivalry between two actresses has been loved by all. From Gauahar Khan- Tanisha Mukherjee, Hina Khan- Shilpa Shinde, Rashami Desai- Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Rubina Dilaik- Jasmin Bhasin and Tejasswi Prakash- Shamita Shetty all the rivalries have given a lot of spice to the fans and they look forward for more of such controversies.

This year, the makers cashed in on the rift between two leading ladies of television, Tina Datta and Sreejita De. They were quite close friends but a few things conspired and their friendship turned sour. The rift between the duo was evident on the premiere episodes wherein Tina maintained a stance of being friends with Sreejita while the latter stated that things turned ugly between them because of Tina’s dominating behavior.

Tina Datta and Sreejita De were inseparable a few years back and actress Ishita Ganguly was also a part of the friendship and the trio gave major friendship goals. The Bengali connection between them sort of kept them together. Not only were Tina, Sreejita and Ishita great friends, their mothers also caught up every now and then and bonded well.

I’ve known Sreejita and Tina both for many years and we’ve been great friends but I’d like to extend my support to Sreejita. We had a word before she left for the show and I really like the fact that she is a strong contender and a very real person.

Now, since two of her close friends are in the Bigg Boss 16 house and are talking about an alleged rift, we at India Forums dialled Ishita’s number to know whom is she supporting. Ishita quipped, “Well, I’ve known Sreejita and Tina both for many years and we’ve been great friends but I’d like to extend my support to Sreejita. We had a word before she left for the show and I really like the fact that she is a strong contender and a very real person. She’s playing very well and with time, once she opens up, she’ll surely connect with the audience because of her fierce and strong personality”.

We asked her about the alleged rift between the two and who’s right in the spat according to her, she said, “I don’t have anything personal or against Tina. I don’t know much about their rift but my support is with Sree.”
