It’s Official: Keanu ‘Breathtaking’ Reeves and Carrie Anne-Moss return for Matrix 4!

The Matrix franchise has been pulling off some of the most commendable action sequences since 1999 and fans can't stop loving the films for Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne-Moss’ artsy performances. Today, Sony Pix India took to their official Instagram handle and announced the return of Matrix franchise with their all-new instalment - Matrix 4 which will once again star Keanu and Reeves.

Lana Wachowski, one half of the Wachowskis who directed all the three films in the franchise with sister Lilly, will write and direct this new project.

Many of the ideas Lilly and I explored 20 years ago about our reality are even more relevant now. I'm very happy to have these characters back in my life and grateful for another chance to work with my brilliant friends.

The film will be produced and distributed globally by Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures will produce and globally distribute the film. Warner Bros. Picture Group chairman Toby Emmerich made the announcement on Tuesday.

We could not be more excited to be re-entering ‘The Matrix’ with Lana. She is a true visionary - a singular and original creative filmmaker - and we are thrilled that she is writing, directing and producing this new chapter in ‘The Matrix’ universe.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the popular sci-fi action film franchise. Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell have co-written the script with Lana Wachowski.

There is no denying Matrix fans across the globe have been waiting for the good news and it's here!
