Indian panorama films for IFFI 2008 selected

New Delhi, Oct 24 (IANS) The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has announced the Indian panorama films that are going to be screened at the thirty-ninth International Film Festival of India - 2008 (IFFI) in December in Goa.

New Delhi, Oct 24 (IANS) The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has announced the Indian panorama films that are going to be screened at the thirty-ninth International Film Festival of India - 2008 (IFFI) in December in Goa.

The reports and recommendations were submitted by the jury for both feature and non-feature segment of Indian Panorama of IFFI - 2008 to Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Anand Sharma here Friday.

Twenty five films have been recommended in the feature films segment, while 20 films were recommended for non-feature films category.

'Pulijanmam' (Malayalam) and 'Bishar Blues' (Bengali), the winner of best feature film and best non-feature film awards respectively at the 54th National Film Awards have been given an automatic entry.

The jury also recommended 'Yarwing', a film in Kokborok language of Tripura, as the inaugural film for Indian Panorama with 'Kanachivaram' (Tamil) and 'Mahasatta' (Marathi) for the competition section of the festival.
