"I just followed Satish Ji's lead, everything was done by him," - Ratan Jain on 'Kaagaz 2'

Known for backing films such as ' Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, ‘Humraaz’, Akele Hum Akele Tum, ‘And Dhadkan’, producer Ratan Jain opens up on why he backed Satish Kaushik's last film, Kaagaz 2. Directed by V.K. Prakash and produced by Shashi Satish Kaushik, Ratan Jain, and Ganesh Jain, "Kaagaz 2" is a collaborative effort by Satish Kaushik Entertainment LLP & Venus Worldwide Entertainment Pvt. Ltd, set to hit theatres on  March 1 st 2024.

Sharing why he chose to support the film, he stated, "Actually, it was all Satish Ji's idea. He pitched us the story, and since Satish Ji is a friend, I felt it was a compelling topic to bring to the screen. The main focus was on illustrating the challenges people face due to various factors like traffic jams, protests, or roadblocks."

He further elaborated, "I must mention that  I just followed Satish Ji; everything is done by him only. We are actually financially involved in this film. Satish Ji made the film, and I'm releasing the film."

Talking about his reaction when Late Satish Ji came to him with this film, he mentioned, "As a producer, I was more concerned about what kind of casting we could do, what kind of budget there would be, whether I'd be able to allocate that kind of budget from the film or not. But then, once we started discussing, everything started to find solutions to all the problems. So, that's how we decided to make the film."

Recalling memories of his late friend Satish Kaushik, he shared, "I've known Satish for many years, and we've collaborated on several films. Both my brother Ganesh and I share a close friendship with Satish. When he approached us with this idea, it was more of a friend discussing with friends rather than a formal business pitch."

Emphasizing why audiences should watch the movie, he stated, "I can't stress enough how relevant this film is today. It addresses contemporary issues that many people face. Additionally, there's a subplot involving a father-son relationship; the father, a prominent lawyer, supports Satish's cause, while the son, in the army, initially opposes his father due to past family conflicts. However, they reconcile as they unite to resolve Satish's predicament. So, it's essentially a story about three characters."

Kaagaz 2, marking the final film of the late actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik, will hit theaters on March 1st, 2024. It features Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Neena Gupta, Smriti Kalra, Kiran Kumar, and others.
