Having done castings for Endemol, casting director Pravat Rout has now joined Optimystix as an in-house casting director for Crime Patrol.
Pravat is quite happy and excited to be the new casting director for Crime Patrol and he is feeling blessed to be a part of the show, which was in his wish list always. In a candid conversation with TellyBuzz, Pravat shares more about his association with Crime Patrol, what made him opt for the show and much more.
Pravat shares, "It's a very different show from other shows. All the actors who are casted on Crime Patrol are good actors. I love the format of the show. The character looks exactly what a character should look like. For a normal daily soap, we generally prefer casting actors who are good looking but it's not the same with Crime Patrol. To give a realistic feel to the story, we prefer casting just good actors; it doesn't matters how the actor is looking. In Crime Patrol, they don't use make up. I love Crime Patrol and I am happy to get an opportunity to work with good actors. That's why I have chosen Crime Patrol."
Talking about the challenges while casting actors for Crime Patrol, Pravat continues, "The biggest challenge that we face while casting is that we have to make sure that the actors should relate to the characters. For example, if the story has a backdrop of Punjab then they should look like a Punjabi and have a Punjabi accent. Accent matters a lot and we never compromise with it. So we have to search for such actors. We call maximum people from theatre. If the new faces are talented then even they are given an opportunity."
What's next for Pravat? Answering to our question, Pravat added, "Currently I am busy with Crime Patrol and simultaneously, I am also casting for Endemol. In future, I have one movie in pipeline."
Good luck Pravat!
