Heart of Stone Trailer: Alia Bhatt seems to be a badass villain against Gal Gadot

Netflix's TUDUM event has been underway and as expected, some of the most-awaited projects have gone on to release footage that might be teasers or full-blown trailers. On one hand, there is an array of shows that have a returning season coming in while on the other hand, everyone is looking forward to Alia Bhatt.

It is no secret why - as Bhatt makes her Hollywood debut with the mega actioner, Heart of Stone. The actor appeared on TUDUM's stage with Heart of Stone co-stars, Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan as they were all set to present the trailer of their film.

As expected, the film seems to be mounted on a gigantic scale with action being the central focus. 

The trailer features Gadot as Rachel Stone, who is a member of a secret agency called the Charter. While the members of the elite agency work towards building a greater plan for world peace, Bhatt seems to play the perfect foil in their mission.

While her footage in the trailer is rather limited, Bhatt's character seems to be the one that has gone rogue and will be at loggerheads with Rachel Stone. 

The trailer reveals the globe-trotting nature of the movie, which was shot in Italy, London and Lisbon, and teases some high-stakes action scenes involving a snowy chase, multiple fist-fights, and more. It is also revealed that everybody is chasing after a MacGuffin called ‘the Heart’ — this is the object that gives the Charter its ‘power’. Somewhat surprisingly, it seems like Alia is playing the villain in the movie. Her character steals the Heart and challenges Rachel: “Now you answer to me,” she says with a smile on her face.

Directed by Tom Harper, Heart of Stone also stars Matthias Schweighöfer, Jing Lusi and Paul Ready. The movie will debut on Netflix on August 11, just in time for Independence Day in India.
