Fashion Face Off: Nargis Fakhri vs Dia Mirza

Trailer launches are one of the most widely covered events by the media and present a great opportunity for celebrities to flaunt their style quotient. Since it marks the beginning of a never ending round of promotions for movies, it is important that the leads grab the spotlight for all the right reasons.

However, at the trailer launch of her latest release Banjo, actress Nargis Fakhri committed the dreaded fashion faux-pas by donning a Pankaj & Nidhi embellished body con dress, a dress which had previously been worn by Dia Mirza at the Genesis Foundation Charity event two months ago.


Mirza wore the military-inspired dress with her hair styled in a chic updo and opted for open-toe heels with minimal make up and accessories. The outfit and styling was spot on for an such an event and kudos to Mirza for choosing the perfect occasion to wear the pretty dress.



Fakhri, on the other hand, paired the dress with ankle strap heels that better suited the formal ambiance of the outfit. The dress with its sheer panels seemed to complement her frame better than Mirza's. However, her centre parted hair style fell flat against the outfit. The event also demanded a more young and vibrant look instead of the subtle and matured aura exuded by this fall collection dress.

Mirza wins this round of fashion face off with a narrow winning edge granted by the more suited hair style. We hope that Fakhri seeks inspiration from her modelling roots and opts for more bold and vibrant choices, both in clothing and hair styles, especially for events that require some eye-popping outfits.
