Bollywood stars, both male and female, turned up in their stylish best to the event titled "GQ's Best Dressed Men 2016". An event that honours the fashion prowess of celebrities obviously demands that the attendees bring their fashion A-game. While the event honored India's Best Dressed Men, the women in attendance also rocked some bold looks. BollyCurry brings to you a fashion recap of who wore what, who knocked it out of the park and who should have taken a moment to reconsider their fashion choices for the night.

Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor stuck to the classics by donning a Zegna purple suit, which he paired with a Mr Button shirt and Tod's shoes. The metallic sheen of the suit elevated his outfit from boringly safe to edgy, a move that turned the night into his favour. Kapoor's style quotient subsequently validated GQ's choice of putting him on the cover of their Best Dressed issue this month.

Ayushmann Khurrana

Ayushmann Khurrana, who leans towards the quirkier side when it comes to his fashion preferences, continued the same in a teal green suit and shirt by designer duo Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna. The fashionable nerd's look, which featured a bow tie brooch, was completed with Prada eye wear. Kudos to the star for opting for, and rocking, an unconventional color.

Kajal Aggarwal

Kajal Aggarwal put her best foot forward in an Isabel Sanchis white jumpsuit worn with a thick, golden, waist belt. The minimal accessorising complemented the outfit perfectly, though the asymmetric cut and length of the left sleeve swamped the pretty actress's figure.

John Abraham

Handsome hunk John Abraham strayed away from the rest of the pack in a multi-zippered shirt and asymmetric jacket by Gaurav Gupta. Abraham carried the all-black goth look with such pomp that it could only be attributed to his modelling roots. Though some would think twice about wearing denim to such an event, the G-star RAW jeans blended in well with the rest of the look.

Mawra Hocane

Mawra Hocane dazzled in a Maral Yazarloo black gown which featured beautiful beaded detailing at the back. The cut and the flaring at the bottom of the skirt highlight the actress perfectly. The minimal accessorising worked well with the outfit, rightfully making the focus the actress itself.

Rahul Khanna

Rahul Khanna, who always gets it right when choosing the perfect outfit, arrived in an all Dior attire. The blue and white suit coupled with Khanna's poise converted this into a winning choice. The sans-bow tie look suited the casual chic aura of the event to a T.

Lauren Gottlieb

Lauren Gottlieb looked stunning in a Deme By Gabriella black dress with a thigh high split. A pair of metallic studded Louboutin heels topped off the look. The slicked back hairstyle was the perfect choice to complete this edgy vibe and she carried the outfit with matching attitude.

Arjun Kapoor

Arjun Kapoor is fast becoming known as a fashion disaster with some of his outfit choices. The John Varvatos bomber jacket and the Roberto Cavalli shoes could have worked if paired with a different shirt. However, his choice of a t-shirt with a skull and rose motif just did not work. The night demanded a certain level of sophistication which Kapoor certainly lacked and made him look out of place at the event honouring fashion's elite.

Evelyn Sharma

Evelyn Sharma opted for a blue and white colour block jumpsuit by Karn Malhotra which she wore with a thin gold belt. While the outfit itself was certainly fashionable, Sharma did not pull it off as well as she could have. The belt could have been worn higher to add more definition to the outfit and the shoulders of the jumpsuit were reminiscent of the dreaded padded shoulders look of the 90's. All in all, this one was a miss.

The night also saw many other stars in attendance. Among them were Imran Khan, Dino Morea, Saqib Saleem and Abhay Deol. Who did you think was the best dressed and who was in some dire need for fashion advice? Let us know in the comments below!

People who are commenting below, the name of actresses and saying that 'they aren't men', 'GQ' s best dressed men' is the name of the event and not the name of the article -_-
