'Dangal' actress Suhani Bhatnagar's real cause of death revealed: father Puneet Bhatnagar explains

It came across as probably one of the biggest shocks in recent times where news about actress Suhani Bhatnagar passing away but the newswagon. The actress was just 19 years old.

Since her passing away, a flood of messages from celebrities and otherwise expressing their shock, wondering and condolences have been pouring in. And while there was assumption about how exactly did she die, there wasn't official confirmation on the same.

But now, her father Puneet Bhatnagar sat down with the media and went on to explain what exactly happened to her.

In a video shared by Press Trust of India (PTI), Mr. Puneet Bhatnagar was quoted saying, “She started developing swelling on her hand a couple of months ago, we took her to several dermatologists, but nothing was diagnosed. Later we took her to AIIMS, where she was diagnosed with Dermatomyositis. As part of treatment, she was given steroids, which later developed infections and her body started producing fluids. Due to fluids, her lungs collapsed, and she succumbed to it. She was declared dead yesterday in the evening,” said Puneet Bhatnagar, father of actor #SuhaniBhatnagar.

As it is now clear that the effect of steroids that were taken for the cure of her swelling hands, her lungs collapsed and she succumbed to it.

It still continues to be an extremely shocking and saddening instance, where everyone is just trying soak it in.

For the uninitiated, Suhani became an overnight sensation along with the other girls in Dangal back in 2016. She played the younger version of Babita Phogat and was applauded for her portrayal. She didn't appear in any film post that but was said to be interested in pursuing a career in Mass Media and Journalism.
