Celebrate Abhar Diwas with Sony as they salute womanhood..

In the fast paced life and busy career we rarely get time to stand and think of the one person in our life who has done the most for us—in our journey from being a toddler to an adult. She is there with us through the thick and thin of life, trials, tribulations, moments of joy and happiness. She has always been there – whether in the form of a mother or a wife. She has brought meaning to our life. During the course of this journey we have taken her for granted…. never thought about her dreams and aspirations. Our new show "Sujata" also explores this theme – where Sujata – the lead protagonist has devoted her entire life to her family – her husband and children. There is nothing more important to her than her family. So like many other women, she has sacrificed her dreams and aspirations, her youth for the sake of the family, without expecting anything in return. However in playing this pivotal role, she like most women has forgotten her identity and needs. Now in the autumn of her life, she finds herself all alone. The husband and children have just passed her by and are engrossed in their own life.

Sony Entertainment Television has come up with a unique day, Aabhar Diwas, on April 28th, when the viewers can acknowledge and thank the one woman who has made a difference to their lives. The channel has tied up with Spencer outlets across the country where you can drop your message for the woman you care. Best messages will win fabulous prizes. Radio stations too will call for messages and best messages of the day will win prizes.

This is our way to show our gratitude to someone we care. Life has changed for us. It may be years since we have shown her that we care. She has no complaints and falls into a comfortable pattern of life constantly reaching out and nurturing us - husband, kids and even her siblings with their wants and demands. Life seems timeless…until suddenly she finds herself standing alone! She enters the autumn of her life and she is still looking for the comfort of the nest that she has built over the years.
