Bollywood movies every kid should watch

When people talk about Bollywood movies and what it consists of the first things that come to mind are – Romance, Songs, Brainless Action Sequences and Comedic Dialogues. People often forget that Bollywood movies are so much more than just the above-mentioned things. 

With actors like Bhumi Pednekar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Taapsee Pannu Vicky Kaushal bringing forward content driven movies, let’s take a look at some of the movies which have made our childhood better.

A tale of an unconventional friendship between Banku (played by Aman Siddiqui), a young child, and Bhoothnath (played by Amitabh Bachchan), an unfriendly ghost, will really bring a smile on your face. The innocence that Banku portrays all the while teaching Bhoothnath how to be happy in all the difficult circumstances in life will melt your hearts for sure.

Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi! (2005)

After getting killed in an accident, in order to save someone, Aditya aka Adi meets Yamraj, the god of death, in the afterlife. He sets out on a journey with Yamraj to save his family home from being sold his evil uncle. The adventures that Aditya experiences are so hilarious with his power to destroy the baddies, the movie is really worth a watch. 

My Friend Ganesha (2007)

My friend Ganesh

A story of an eight-year-old Ashu, whose parents are always busy, andLord Ganesha is really something the kids of this generation should watch. The movie is a perfect combination of an animated Lord Ganesha and a lonely Aashu’sfriendship, the adventures they encounter together and the message that no one is truly alone there is always someone looking out for them.


Koi... Mil Gaya (2003)

Koi... Mil Gaya

Koi… Mil Gaya is a story of Rohit, a mentally challenged youth, and Jaadu, an alien. The movie is worth a watch as it not only portrays an unconventional friendship but also is a fun-to-watch, what with Rohit’s transformation, him beating up the bad guys and saving Jaadu from getting caught and sending him back to the planet he came from. 


Makdee (2002)


In an attempt to rescue her twin sister Munni, from the evil witch Makdee, Chunni strikes a deal with her. The movie is in itself a masterpiece. Definitely a must-watch movie.


Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic(2008)

Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic

The story of how an angel, played by Rani Mukherjee, changes lives of four orphans, who are in the care of an industrialist (played by Saif AliKhan) who accidentally killed their parents, with help of magic. This movie is worth-a-watch during the vacation season.


Taare Zameen Par (2007)

Taare Zameen Par

Everybody remembers this movie. A story of how an art teacher, played by Aamir Khan, discovers Ishaan’s, played by Darsheel Safari, ability to paint and helps him overcome his dyslexia using his talents. The bond that the student-teacher share in this movie might be unconventional but it is also emotional.


Chillar Party (2011)

Chillar party

A story of how a group of friends befriend an orphan and his pet dog, the movie is a must watch. The determination, innocence, the pure an unconditional friendship they all harbour will actually make us think about how the world changing and keep getting selfish.
