Take a look at a list of the top controversies of this year from the television industry.

The entertainment industry never falls short of controversies. While some manage to get away with it, there are some who get stuck in them. 2017 was a year that was filled with controversies; some hard-hitting while others, rather shocking.

In our yearly wrap up feature, we are listing down for you the controversies and the people who made it to the headlines time and again.

#1. Shilpa Shinde and Sanjay Kohli's fiasco

Shilpa Shinde filed charges of sexual harassment against her ex-show, Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai's producer, Benaifer Kohli's husband Sanjay Kohli. However, she also stated that was ready to settle the matter out of court if the duo agreed to apologize to her. All of this was later on followed by Shilpa's expulsion from CINTAA (Cine and Television Artists Association).

#2. TVF CEO Arunabh Kumar stepped down as CEO

TVF Co-Founder, Arunabh Kumar was accused of sexual harassment after a letter went viral on social media. In fact, he had to step down as the CEO after all that followed, and the then COO, Dhawal Gusain stepped into his shoes.

#3. The Kapil Sharma - Sunil grover feud

The biggest controversy of the year was undoubtedly that of Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover who got into a fight on the plane which resulted in Sunil, followed by fellow cast members of The Kapil Sharma Show, Chandan Prabhakar, and Ali Asgar boycotting the show.

#4. Molestation case against Parth Samthaan

Controversy's favourite child, Parth Samthan once again made it to the list with another model filing a molestation case against him and this time, the case that has been registered is Section of the Indian Penal Code - POSCO.

#5. Kunal Verma and Sidharth Shukla's on set rivalry

Kunal Verma and Siddharth Shukla's fight on the sets of Dil Se Dil Tak started off as just another on set rivalry, however, it gradually became a huge issue which led to Kunal quitting the show. It was only a few days ago that Siddharth too, was replaced by Rohan Gandotra as the lead.

#6. Kishwer Merchantt and Anusha Dandekar's face off

Kishwer Merchantt and Anusha Dandekar had a huge face off on social media when Anusha and VJ Gaelyn commented and made fun of Kishwer's friend's Punjabi accent. Though things were on the clear later on, Suyyash Rai and Karan Kundra's intrusion was what made it stop.

#7. Pehredaar Piya Ki being suddenly pulled off-air

Pehredaar Piya Ki on Sony TV made it to the headlines when it received severe backlash for showing a marriage between a 9-year-old and an 18-year-old. The Shashi Sumeet show in fact, received a lot of negative feedback, and despite keeping a press conference to clear the misconceptions about the show, the makers ultimately decided to take off the show overnight as it suddenly went off air. However, a promised, the makers did come up with a sequel to the show, titled Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya.

#8. Mandana Karimi

Mandana Karimi had a tough year as her mother-in-law apparently threw her out of the matrimonial house, post which she filed a domestic violence case against them. However, in an attempt to save her marriage, she withdrew the case but nothing worked in her favour as this decision of hers was opposed by husband Gaurav Gupta.

#9. Piyush Sahdev's arrest

Piyush Sahdev has also been in the news for some or the other reason this year; first for his divorce with ex-wife Akangsha Rawat, and later on for being arrested on grounds of rape charges.

#10. Karan Patel's constant jibes at Hina Khan

Bigg Boss being the controversial show that it is, this time around, invited a lot of attention from the television industry. And, getting most of the attention was Bigg Boss Season 11 contestant Hina Khan who received a lot of negative feedback. The actor who was the most vocal about his dislike for Hina was Karan Patel, who in fact also visited the Bigg Boss house and many a time his tweets have also led fandom wars.Quite a controversial year, isn't it?

Glad that Sidharth Shukla chose to quit than getting suffocated in the show which is becoming crappier with every passing episode

You know, your "controversy's favourite child" hasn't faced any shitty Weakass Gupta based controversy since 8 months now

But yeah he's god's and his family's (including fans) favourite baccha
