#BestOf2016: HOOKUPS that came as a SURPRISE to one and all..!

A year that will go down in history as the heartbreak year which saw several fall outs and many break ups of popular TV celebs was also a year where several actors were linked up. In the most obvious of cases, one of the biggest truths of showbiz is that two actors, when work with each other tend to get linked time and again.

While some turn out to be true, some are refuted completely. And while several actors confessed of being struck by the cupid, many actors remained rather mum about it.

Here are the Top Linkups that came as a surprise to one and all-

Ankita Lokhande and Kushal Tandon/Karanveer Mehra

Actress, Ankita Lokhande may be off the screen for all this while, but 2016 proved to be a news magnet for the actress. This year witnessed the shocking breakup of Ankita and long time beau, Sushant Singh Rajput. However, inspite of this being a major shocking news, what turned out to be more shocking was the actress' consistent linkup stories. At different instances, Ankita was linked to Kushal Tandon and Karanveer Mehra, which she refuted completely.

Pearl V Puri and Hiba Nawab

This was another case, where an actor faced a breakup and was linked to another actor. Pearl V Puri and Asmita Sood's relationship got sour this year and the actor, moving on, went on to star in the show, Meri Saasu Maa' co-starring Hiba Nawab. However, the link-up bug came finding him where his off-screen camaraderie and constant appearances with Hiba gave birth to the rumours about the actors dating each other. The duo did not deny it outright, but did not accept either.

Abhishek Verma and Aditi Bhatia

This young lot entered the show, 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' post leap and it turned out to be a successful move, where the duo became extremely popular. However, ironically, though the duo play brother-sister on-screen, their camaraderie and relationship off-screen was always under scrutiny. Soon, there were rumours about the duo dating, however, they denied it completely.

Kinshuk Vaidya and Shivya Pathania

The Sony TV show, Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka' may be going off-air sooner than anticipated, but lead actors, Kinshuk Vaidya and Shivya Pathania can certainly be happy about this stint. The duo have time and again been speculated to be dating each other, courtesy their constant appearances off-screen at various instances. In fact, there were also rumours about how Shivya has been warmly welcomed at Kinshuk's home. The duo, on being asked, has chosen to keep mum about the whole saga.

Prince Narula and Yuvika Chaudhary

This came as a surprise and was quite an irony. Prince and Yuvika were already linked together during their stint in Bigg Boss 9-Double Trouble', where they kept on denying any such occurrence. However, months later, the duo started roaming together, appearing together, and putting cryptic wishes for each other which led to the rumours of the duo dating each other. Prince and Yuvika have chosen to keep quiet over the saga.

Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi

It was assumed that the sets of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' had become cupid's favourite spot, when these rumours were doing the rounds. While Rohan Mehra and Kanchi Singh were rumoured to be dating, they went on to accept the same. However, when it came to actors, Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi aka Kartik and Naira respectively, the duo denied such rumours completely, There were several negative rumours to this linkup, which were denied too.

Rocky Jaiswal and Hina Khan

This linkup can certainly be termed to cryptic love. And why is that? Actress Hina Khan was one of news brigade's favourite babies this year, courtesy her infamous quitting Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai'. Amidst this, the rumours of the actress dating Rocky Jaiswal hit the web. While, initially, Hina denied those rumours indirectly, the actress has been rather cryptic where she keeps posting special wishes for Rocky time and again including mentioning that he is a very special person' to her.

Vishal Singh and Adita Wahi

While we are talking about Akshara, how can we miss out on Naitik, right? The NEW Naitik i.e. actor, Vishal Singh was literally the latest entrant to this club. The actor is rumoured to be dating actress, Adita Wahi, where several social media mentions have apparently noted at the same. The actor has not responded to these stories and the link-up' phenomenon continues.

Karan Sharma and Surbhi Chandna

The bubbly and chirpy Surbhi Chandna aka Anika from Ishqbaaaz' also couldn't save herself from being a member of this club. The actress' dating rumours hit the web, when her pictures from her instagram account were complied and the gosspimongers revealed that Surbhi has been dating businessman, Karan Sharma. Surbhi has neither denied the same nor accepted it.

Harshad Arora and Tridha Choudhury

The 'Dehleez' co-stars became the talk of the show since the show's inception. Harshad's comeback to fiction was rather overshadowed by his relationship with co-star Tridha Choudhary. The rumours fizzled out once the show went off-air, only to rejuvenate recently, where the couple were apparently holidaying together.

Paras Arora and Meera Deosthale

The Udaan' co-stars were probably the most prominent ones, when it comes to being linked together. A dating rumour that begun in the early part of the year re-gained momentum quite recently, making it a rumour that ran throughout the year. Paras and Meera s off-screen bonding was infectious and only a month ago, did they cryptically describe their relationship only to deny it later.

And now..

While all these couples were hush-hush, there were a couple of couples' who openly accepted their relationship.

Ssharad Malhotra and Pooja Bisht

While 2015 was a year of heartbreak for actors, Ssharad Malhotra and Divyanka Tripathi, 2016 was a year of finding love. While, Divyanka got married to actor, Vivek Dahiya, Ssharad too, found love in the form of actress, Pooja Bisht. Ssharad openly accepted his relationship with Pooja and was vocal about how they connect so easily with each other.

Rohan Mehra and Kanchi Singh

As mentioned above, while, Mohsin and Shivangi from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' denied the dating rumours, Rohan Mehra and Kanchi from the same show were rumoured to be dating each other. The couple did not deny the same and accepted it being rather open about it. Even now, where Rohan is in Bigg Boss Season 10', girlfriend Kanchi keeps expressing her support through social media.
