#BB10: Bigg Boss Season 10 opener promises daily dose of drama for the next 90 days!

The season's amalgamation of whimsical commoners and composed celebs does the trick here...

The much-awaited and the most controversial Indian reality show finally flagged off. There was a lot of anticipation just like any other seasons. However, what made this season more anticipated was the never-tried-before formula and i.e. presenting an amalgamation of common people and celebrity contestants.

The contestants seem promising

While, the episode was going on, several live feeds already started making trolls about the array of common people contestants that have been presented. However, one cannot deny the fact that they are indeed commoners and people with distinct personalities. If you weren't an anamoly, you wouldn't be a part of 'Bigg Boss', would you?

And the 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' fans saw the awaited REUNION too-

Salman is at his normal best and Deepika's appearance was a huge flop

While Salman did what he does best and that is BE himself; Deepika Padukone's appearance, which was meant to be a highlight of the show turned out to be an absolute flop show. She did not have much participation when it comes to providing some entertainment and had to in fact be the victim of Swamiji's 'unwanted' wisdom. She came, she went and barely people noticed.

While the whole idea of blending people from different worlds does quite the trick here, however, the risk is huge and can also backfire

While, characters like swamiji (Om Sharma) and Lokesh Kumari have made an instant impact with their respective antics, this amalgamation of commoners and celebrity contestants, stands the risk of falling flat. It is certainly a massive risk, where for the masses, it is easy to connect and explore the side of their favourite celebrity contestant. However, when the same comes to a commoner, the connect is not easy as you may hate a respective person for getting in a backlash with your favourite celeb, you may despise a character for being uncensored on national TV etc. It would be really interesting to see whether this concept is sustained, as whenever a respective concept doesn't work in 'Bigg Boss', the makers make developments instantly.

The commoners already seem more entertaining than the celebrities

The first impression suggests that the commoners are more bold, blunt and and outspoken than the celebrities, which is a given. The celebrities would try to balance their public image with their actual one. However, this becomes a real feat for the celebrities where they will be competing with unforgiving people who don't have an existing image in the viewers' minds and begin with a clean slate.

However...

Having said all that, one just cannot deny that the level of entertainment provided in this opening episode was immense. People watch the show for the antics, fights and some absolutely distinct characters colliding with each other. And this season seems to be providing that. It has literally embodied people of varied professions and personalities together.

It is going to be an uphill task

Though the mix of contestants seem good, the viewers want to see the 'already-known' faces and their different shades rather than 'unknown-faces' and their several antics. It can be possible that the commoners maybe more entertaining than the celebs, but the viewers will need time to connect to them. It is, without a doubt, an uphill task.

The changes that will be incorporated will be interesting to see

'Bigg Boss' has a history of providing the most momentous and effective changes in on-going season, be it in the form of wildcards or be it controversial tasks and guests. And this season has taken some major risks with its decisions in roping in celebrity guests and commoners; and it goes without saying there are certainly gonna be a lot of CHANGES and SURPRISES with the upcoming episodes.

Finally..

Hence, instead of cribbing that commoners may not be adding that wow quotient, a chance given to them maybe worth it. If not, the 'Bigg Boss' creative would certainly have something ready in store for us.

The VINTAGE living room image meant the GAME is ON..!

It is not that the commoners lack the X-factor.

It is just that practically all of the mango people contestants seem wannabe-ish, fake, and pretentious - as if they're trying too hard to fit in to this environment.

Seems like the show has deliberately selected only such kind of mango people.
