Arjun Kapoor opens up about his obesity, B-town celebs shower words of encouragement

Actor Arjun Kapoor is currently preparing for his role in his upcoming film Panipat. The actor has been hitting the gym vigorously for the preparation of his character in Ashutosh Gowariker’s period film. Recently, AK took to his social media to open up about his weight loss journey after he successfully achieved the look he wanted to for the film. 

The actor shared a photograph of himself sweating it out at the gym and spoke about his tough battle against obesity. “It’s been a tough journey for me ever since I was a kid when it comes to my battle with obesity. Everyone has their own struggles I have had and continue to have mine. But the whole point of life is that we fall, we get back up and try again... efforts will pay off eventually if not today then in a week month or even a year...” he wrote. 

Arjun also revealed how it took him three years to lose 50 kilos as an overweight 20-year-old and tweeted about the same, "I vowed never to give up in the three years it took me to lose 50 kilos when I was 20-years-old and I sure as hell won't be giving up and letting go now... keeping the belief is key, you've got to keep at it and one day you will reap the benefits... we all have got to keep the faith and keep at it cause what we do today will echo in time and reflect within us eventually."

B-town celebs, friends and family showered words of encouragement and praises on the actor’s post opening up about his weight loss journey. Sister Anshula Kapoor and actors Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Sanjay Kapoor among others commented on the actor’s Instagram post. Rumoured girlfriend Malaika Arora also praised AK by commenting on his picture.

Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Panipat is a period drama that will star Arjun Kapoor reportedly in the role of Sadashiv Rao Bhau who served as the commander of the Maratha army during the battle. The film also stars Kriti Sanon, Sanjay Dutt, Mohnish Bahl and Kunal Kapoor.
