Anurag Kashyap reveals this about Ranbir Kapoor; says Katrina is a marketing genius

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has not only provided opportunities to numerous newcomers but has also championed independent voices by producing their projects. 

In a recent candid conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Kashyap was asked to identify a marketing genius in Bollywood. Without hesitation, he pointed to an actor he hasn't had the chance to work with but has heard rave reviews about – Katrina Kaif. Her exceptional marketing skills have garnered praise from those who've had the privilege of collaborating with her.

During the rapid-fire session, Kashyap was also questioned about Ranbir Kapoor's strengths. 

He didn't hold back in praising Kapoor's acting prowess, describing him as a "fantastic actor." However, he humorously admitted to being occasionally baffled by Kapoor's choice of film projects, stating, "Sometimes I don't know on what basis he makes his choices. But he is a terrific actor, and regardless of whether his films succeed or not, he will always shine. There's nothing he can't do."

Reflecting on the state of his films in India, Kashyap acknowledged that Bollywood is often preoccupied with box office figures and star power. He attributed the challenges his films face in resonating with Indian audiences to the dominance of these factors. 

As we look back at his groundbreaking work, it's evident that Anurag Kashyap's films, like "Gangs of Wasseypur," released in two parts in 2012, have left an indelible mark on Bollywood.
