Actor Sonu Sood emerged as a real life hero after he set out to help the migrant workers stranded in different parts of Maharashtra to reach back home amid the lockdown. And now, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has extended help to the migrants.
Amitabh Bachchan has sponsored 10 buses for migrants in association with Mahim dargah and Haji Ali dargah to send 300 migrants back home to the various locations in UP viz. Lucknow, Allahabad, Gorakhpur and Bhadohi.
Reportedly, the buses will be provided with food and snacks for the entire journey with water juices etc. The medical kits are also being provided to the migrants in case they may need it in their journey. Hand sanitizer, masks etc are also being provided.
In order to follow social distancing, only half the capacity of the bus is being loaded with the migrants and the bus will carry only 25 passengers in a 52 seater bus.
Earlier, Amitabh Bachchan had pledged to provide monthly ration to one lakh households of daily wage workers associated with the All India Film Employees Confederation.
Big B also took up the kind gesture of distributing 2000 food packets daily to the needy across Mumbai.
