In the ever-evolving landscape of technology, the film industry is grappling with a rising threat - deepfake videos. Recently, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt joined the unfortunate ranks of celebrities who have become targets of this malicious practice, following in the footsteps of Rashmika Mandanna, Kajol, and Katrina Kaif. The disturbing trend highlights the urgent need for awareness and stringent measures against the misuse of technology.

Just days after Rashmika Mandanna expressed her outrage over a deepfake video featuring her face superimposed on another woman engaging in lewd gestures, Alia Bhatt found herself in a similar predicament. The deepfake video circulating on social media falsely portrays Alia in compromising situations, her face skillfully manipulated onto another individual. Closer inspection, however, reveals the stark differences between the actress and the person in the video, underscoring the deceptive nature of deepfake technology.

Rashmika Mandanna had earlier shared a tweet regarding the same that how she feels scared and hurt following the incident. Many celebs including Amitabh Bachchan supported the actress calld out the lawmakers to look after this. 

Kajol, too, fell victim to this unsettling trend when a digitally altered video surfaced, showing a lady changing clothing with Kajol's visage seamlessly merged onto her physique. 

Katrina Kaif faced a different form of deepfake manipulation. A photo from her movie 'Tiger 3' was digitally altered to depict her engaging in a fight scene with a stuntwoman, wearing nothing but a towel. The edited image circulated widely, creating a false narrative that could tarnish the actress's reputation.

The rise of deepfake technology poses a significant threat to civil society, as it is increasingly exploited to spread false information and produce explicit content.
