If you have been a viewer who has seen both Game Of Thrones (GOT) and the Lord Of The Rings (LOTR) trilogy, we are certain that you would have marked the several inspirations that the former has derived from the latter, time and again for some of the iconic moments. While the world of Thrones is ever, a new series based on the world of Lord Of The Rings is under works at Amazon.

As known, the Amazon mega-show has roped in some of the most illustrious actors, technicians and other crew members for the series as it is touted to be the next Thrones in terms of the sheer scale. While the inspiration and similarities between GOT and LOTR have been one of the talking points, it is only ironical that a GOT alum has joined the LOTR series.

According to reports, Bryan Cogman, writer and co-producer of Game Of Thrones has joined the development of LOTR series as a consultant. Cogman will work with JD Payne and Patrick McKay, who were tapped to develop the Rings series for the streamer last summer.

Well, we are excited already.
