"That's what she said"...

Everything about The Office is iconic. Literally, every episode from the mockumentary-style sitcom is remembered for one reason or the other and everyone, who has seen the show loves to talk about it too. So, if you have seen The Office, you would love to read and learn these trivial facts and if you haven't seen the series yet, come on, go to Amazon Prime Video and start bingeing on one of the greatest comedies of all time.

10. Instant Chemistry And Meant-To-Be

The on-screen chemistry between Jenna Fischer and John Krasinski was so electric and adorable that fans couldn't help but wish for that to transpire in real life too. Of course, that did not happen but Jenna and John met each other for the first time during casting and there was an instant connection between them. The producers arranged a series of casting sessions with different actors initially. John and Jenna would tell each other how Jenna was his favorite Pam and John was his favorite Jim respectively. They were actually cast later, and as we say, the rest is history.

9. One Person, Several Jobs

One of the most interesting things about The Office was how several actors on-screen were also writers on the show and some actors were also directors of several episodes. Perplexed? Well, we were too. Many fans already know how Paul Lieberstein, Mindy Kaling and BJ Novak were writers on the show as they played the roles of Toby, Kelly, and Ryan respectively. But not many know that other actors like Steve Carell aka Michael Scott, John Krasinski, Ed Helms aka Andy Bernard, Rainn Wilson aka Dwight Schrute and Brian Baumgartner aka Kevin also directed, produced and wrote several episodes of the series apart from acting in it. In fact, Jenna Fischer' real-life husband, Lee Kirk also directed one episode on the show, which brings us to...

8. Spouses Take-Over

Many know by know how Nancy Carell, Steve's real-life wife was a part of the show where she played Carol Stills, Michael's girlfriend once. But not many know how Jenna's real-life husband, Lee Kirk not only directed a couple of episodes on the show but also appeared on it in a blink-and-miss role. Wondering which one? He played the lactation consultant who comes in when Pam gives birth to Cece.

7. The Right Schrute

It is almost impossible to imagine anyone play a better Dwight Schrute than Rainn Wilson, isn't it? Well. The writers thought otherwise initially. The producers originally wanted John Krasinski to play the role of Dwight. But John refused even before he would read the part. He already felt that he would make for a better Jim Halpert and even though the producers did not like John's reaction, they continued with it. Thank you, John! Thank you!

6. Mixed Tobyness

Paul Lieberstein, apart from being a great Toby and a good writer for the show was also one of the most connected people to the rest of the cast and crew. And we don't just mean emotionally but actually. His brother, Warren, was married to Angela Kinsey for four years during the show. When Toby speaks to his brother Rory Flenderson on video chat, Rory is played by Paul’s brother Warren who is also a producer on the show. Leiberstein’s sister Suzanne is actually married to The Office creator and executive producer, Greg Daniels. Go figure!

5. They Didn't Doubt It

It was rational of several people associated with the show and some other trade pundits to not be too sure or overestimate the success of The Office. However, unlike us and many others, Steve Carrell went out for lunch with John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, and Rainn Wilson shortly after they received the call and predicted that the show would last for eight years. They were close, it lasted nine.

4. No One Like Michael Scott.

The fans of the show were extremely disheartened when Steve Carell was confirmed to quit the show after seven seasons. But in stark contrast to his character of Michael Scott, Steve was one of the most beloved people on the show and that was so much that the cast and crew“retired” his number on the actor’s call sheet. Carrell was always number one on the call sheet and they never used the number again.

3. The Perfect Successor

Many assumed Dwight to be the obvious choice for the role of being the new regional manager of Dunder Mifflin, Scranton after Micahel's exit. But while the writers did juggle with that idea, they went on with Andy Bernard to take over. Andy became the next manager because he, like Michael Scott, put people and relationships ahead of everything else. The writers even originally considered promoting Darryl (Craig Robinson), but decided he was too “rational and smart” to be a manager and wouldn’t cause enough disasters.

2. Pam-Jim Forever

When the series ended, Jenna Fischer kept the engagement ring that Jim Halpert gave her character Pam as a memento.

1. Best Duo Ever

One of the most iconic things about The Office will always be the constant banter between Jim and Dwight, which continued to be the heart of the show constantly over 9 seasons. Rainn Wilson and John Krasinski often gave each other lines during Jim and Dwight’s verbal battles and many of their best character’s best lines came from each other.
