Mithun was born as Gouranga is a National Film Award-winning Indian film actor as well as social activist. In his heyday, he was famous in the 80s. He is the owner of chain hotels, known as Monarch Hotels.His character in the film Disco Dancer which was released in 1982 is still widely known and loved amongst the fans throughout the country. He also won the National award for best actor for his debut filmMrigayaa in 1976 where he played the role of Ghinua.
