Delhi Capitals face a formidable challenge against the high-flying Lucknow Super Giants in an upcoming Indian Premier League encounter. Lucknow, currently positioned third in the points table, appear to be a well-rounded team despite the likely absence of young pacer Mayank Yadav due to injury. Yadav, known for his fiery pace exceeding 150 kmph, exited the previous match against Gujarat Titans after bowling just one over due to abdominal discomfort. 

Khaleel Ahmed has made an excellent start to this season, despite his team not doing that well. He has recorded figures of 2/43, 1/24, 2/21, 1/43 and 1/39 this season thus far.

It seems quite clear now that Delhi Capitals were making a mistake by not picking Prithvi Shaw in their first two games. When he was finally brought in for the game against CSK in Vizag, Shaw scored 43 in 27 balls and DC won that match. He could only score 10 against KKR but then smashed 66 in 40 balls against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. 

LSG come into this game on the back of three consecutive victories. Two of those wins were fuelled by Mayank Yadav but the third one, ominously for DC, was one in which he hardly played any role. It was all down to sheer brilliance in using the conditions, particularly by their spinners, which helped them defend a target of 164.

That is the first thing you need to know, or remember, before watching this match. The tearaway quick had walked off the field after bowling one over in their previous game amd LSG had said that his workload will be managed as a precaution. Head coach Justin Langer all but confirmed that he is out for the next two games.
