In an interview with Zoom, Rakul Preet Singh shared the amusing tale of how Jackky Bhagnani finally popped the question. She disclosed that she insisted Jackky propose to her, firmly stating that she wouldn't proceed with the wedding without a romantic proposal. "I said I need a story," Rakul humorously expressed.

Pressing further, Rakul revealed that she gave Jackky a deadline of 2-3 months to come up with a proposal, regardless of how he chose to do it. The proposal eventually transpired during their combined bachelor's trip in December the previous year, where both their friends gathered. Rakul confessed, "But you know honestly, I had completely forgotten, and he actually managed to surprise me, I had no idea."

The surprise proposal was orchestrated by Jackky's best friend, Bhumi, who played a crucial role in keeping it under wraps. Rakul praised Bhumi's efforts, acknowledging her friend's role in ensuring the proposal remained a surprise.

In a bid to offset the carbon footprint of their grand celebration, the couple decided to plant a sapling in Goa in honour of each guest who graced their wedding, adding a meaningful touch to their special day.
