Rajkummar Rao- Janhvi Kapoor's chemistry is palpable in every frame of 'Dekha Tenu' from 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi'

The much-anticipated cricket drama Mr. & Mrs. Mahi is set to hit theaters soon, and fans are buzzing with excitement. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in leading roles. Recently, the trailer was launched, giving a sneak peek into the first song, “Dekha Tenu.” Today, the full track has been released, and it has already started to captivate audiences with its mesmerizing melody.

“Dekha Tenu” serves as the perfect backdrop for the romantic journey of the film’s characters, Mahi and Mahima. Janhvi and Rajkummar's chemistry in the song brings a wave of nostalgia as they attempt to recreate the magic famously portrayed by Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The song beautifully captures their “imperfectly perfect partnership” and their evolving love story. 

The track is a modern rendition of the iconic verse from “Say Shava Shava,” originally featured in the film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. The original was composed by Aadesh Shrivastava, sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, with lyrics by Sameer Anjaan. The new version is composed by Jaani, who also penned the lyrics. The soulful vocals are delivered by Mohammad Faiz, with additional chorus by the Ali Brothers. 

Mr. & Mrs. Mahi revolves around the story of a newly married couple who share a deep love for cricket. Rajkummar Rao plays Mahendra, who coaches his wife, Mahima (Janhvi Kapoor), helping her pursue cricket professionally. Their journey is filled with challenges and dreams, reflecting both their personal and shared aspirations.

Directed by Sharan Sharma and co-written by him and Nikhil Mehrotra, the romantic sports drama promises to be a heartfelt tale of love and ambition. The film is presented by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions, and produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Zee Studios. Mr. & Mrs. Mahi is set to release on May 31, 2024, and fans are eagerly waiting to see the magic unfold on the big screen.
