From Vanraj to Anuj: Anupamaa's characters who disappeared without closure

Over the years, several characters from Anupamaa, including Vanraj, Anuj, and others, suddenly disappeared from the show without proper endings. Here's a look at the characters who left fans with unanswered questions.

Vanraj Shah

Vanraj, once a key character, suddenly disappeared from the show. It was later revealed he had absconded after committing fraud. With actor Sudhanshu Pandey’s exit, viewers expected a possible return with a new face, but the track was left open-ended, leaving fans disappointed.

Adhik Mehta

Adhik, introduced as Anuj's relative, had a complicated marriage with Pakhi, which ended in divorce after she adopted a baby girl post-leap. Though he was briefly shown in a positive light, fighting for his daughter’s custody, his character soon vanished without any closure.

Ankush Kapadia

Anuj's brother Ankush was once his strongest support, but after being manipulated by Barkha, he turned against him. He was the one who spiked Anuj’s drink and pushed him off a cliff. Since that track, Ankush has disappeared from the storyline without any closure

Barkha Kapadia

Barkha, married to Anuj’s brother, always had her eye on Anuj’s wealth and business. Eventually, she manipulated her husband and tactfully took control of the Kapadia empire. She was last seen during the track when Anuj returned and confronted the family.

Malti Devi

Malti Devi, Anupama’s guru and later revealed as Anuj’s biological mother, turned against Anupama and manipulated Choti Anu into hating her. This led to Anupama’s separation from Anuj and Choti. After they moved abroad, Malti Devi’s track ended abruptly without any closure.

Romil Kapadia

Romil Kapadia, Ankush’s son and Barkha’s stepson, was initially arrogant but gradually formed a close bond with Anupama, Anuj, and Choti Anu. While his track was heading towards him moving abroad, it was sidelined as the focus shifted to Anupama and Anuj’s separation, leaving his storyline incomplete.

Anuj Kapadia

Anuj Kapadia, once Anupama’s college friend and later her husband, was among the show’s most loved characters. After reuniting with Aadhya and regaining stability, he began rebuilding his business. A clash with Ankush led to him being drugged and pushed off a cliff. Since then, his fate remains unknown, and fans continue to hope for his return.
