I don't know if i'll keep watching after this. I was reeled back in to watch with Abhinav's character although i'm a HC fan, i didn't like his character arc.
There could have been more to Abhinav's character and Akshara and his story, but they are unwilling to move past this idea of first love, true love nonsense. What type of couple goes through two divorces yet still manages to remain together as a lifelong couple with this soulmate wala pyar.
The show was meant to show what healthy relationships look like, and this generation has done anything but that. They showed Keerti finding her true partner in her second marriage; what is so crazy about showing that for the main lead?
And It's not about Jay Soni, it's about the potential for his character. I'm not commenting on the actors, they are all good actors; it's not their fault the story is up in flames and never gave them much to work with.
I really wish they had utilised Abhinav's character better.
He was different; he came from an unknown background and didn't have family, which is typical for the relations that he made his own. I mean, are "rishta's" only limited to these well of joint families? And even in that case, could they have given Abhinav's character one too? Only it would have come with the experiences of an individual who has lived as an orphan in a real way, without any family to back him.
Are relations just limited to blood relations? That's what the show keeps emphasising; blended families also have relationships that are just as strong as blood, but nah, that would require actual gears to turn, and they can't handle the exercise.
These people aren't short on good actors, It's about creating an engaging story for the audience and creating a good script. You can add drama while showing healthy relationships, which isn't the case with the leads this generation, whereas Abhinav and Akshara's relationship showed that for the first time since the 1st gen I think.
I am just bummed they didn't utilise the character well enough. They could have if they'd planned it right, but inki planning ka kya hi kahein. They don't know it themselves.
