I was on Twitter when this came up in my recommendation, and it's such a beautifully penned-down thread supporting Abhira. It's worth reading even if you disagree with the points because they are so well-written and supported. Kudos to the writer and I hope they don't mind me sharing this because I am doing this with the intention that their ideas get maximum traction.
This person has overlooked the basic argument that people who have problem with the story have and that is that, before spreading happiness and getting family together, has she even tried to understand from where these people come from? She doesn’t know their issues, when it’s told to her that they don’t celebrate an event, can’t she first try and find out why, instead of just throwing a surprise party ?
Her attempt at doing things without knowing the cause is same as going to the doctor and the doctor prescribes you a medicine without asking you about the symptoms and making any diagnosis.
Also, she had raised the point that Akshara inadvert actions are same as Abhi asking her to sing for an injured mother. She is so wrong here, Abhi had asked her to sing in her capacity as a music therapist and not otherwise.
