I have watched a couple of scenes over the last two weeks very carefully. Irrespective of what the storyline was, considering two weeks ago it was not digestible at all, the scenes that were done were done very nicely. Especially certain ones, with specific actors.
Aroohi + Abhi
Every single time Abhi would speak to Aroohi, his features were always stiff. Emotionless! Never would you see a single emotion on his face that would express a desire to strike an emotional cord. Ever. If anything, he would see her with anger! Especially prior to their marriage fixing. His facial expressions show him holding up a strong shield against her. Once the marriage has been fixed, it is more avoidance or extremely stiff face. Aroohi on the other hand would view others with a stiff attitude. However, she would see Abhimanyu with a sparkle in her eyes. Her expressions would soften. (This does not include the scene where he says marry me. In that, she gave him a response that he would understand. He was saying no emotions, and she gave him the no emotions practical face. Well done I must say!)
Abhmanyu + Kairav
Okay, so normally I would have not gone in-depth into this one, but man amazing scenes together! Abhimanyu would always speak to kairav with some expressions. Not too many. And not a shield like he would with aroohi. He was not defensive, but empathetic.
Abhimanyu - Ma
Man this guy can emote! His expressions each and every time were that of him expressing his mother as his weakness. Simple, done. And his mother. Yes, she seems a little.. not so high in IQ, but she seems like a very emotionally strong person. You can see her tolerance and pain in her expressions! Well done lady! She is a mother of love! You can see the way she sees her son(s ,, maybe,,, who knows). The same motherly love is seen when she looks at her nephew.
Abhimanyu - Junior DR
I had to mention this one! Just could not live without it. SO, I can see why they play the lions growl behind abhimanyu. Man this guys eyes will chew that new intern to the bone. And the fear, but intelligence of not pointing out the head doctor, hahaha. too cute!
Abhimanyu - Akshara
This one I saved for last. Abhimanyu, you can see defensiveness, openess, practicality, and weakness in his other relations. But with Akhshara, haiiiiii. His eyes soften, face softens. He desires to make that 'explicit' emotional connection with her. His eyes, focus on their conscious eye expressions. His eyebrows will always burrow. Becuase he wants to force his concern through to her. He wants his eyes to penetrate her forceful sheild. Seeing his facial expressions, you can tell his heart wants to reach out to hers!
Akshara, ready for this one: Notice how she has never spoken to anyone else but kairav, that too one one or max two occasions. Voh bhi bohot soch kay. After she has given her thoughts a good run through. But with Abhimanyu, the way her heart wanted to yell out her mothers story to him. Was amazing! Just amazing! Here is my reason. She didnt think before she started to blurt out her emotions. She stopped herself. Yes. For sure. But she didnt think before she started to speak. Freudian Slip! This can only be done with those you are the most comfortable around or trust the most. I am not referring to any dreams or khaiyali pulao. I am only analyzing the actual scenes where they are speaking to each other in reality. Now, the thing that got me actually analyzing their facial reactions was the whole Ruby case. They actually spoke with no words. They did once before during their vacation, but that was nothing that they were definate about. The ruby time, that was a full one conscious conversation. Only through expressions.
I have seen many dramas, movies. Not many people are able to emote like these people do. Well done Yeh Ristha Cast... Well done!
