Arjun is Naina's old brother. So he is in a higher class than her. Sameer is Naina's classmate. Which means Arjun is probably in 12th while Naina and Sameer are in 11th. Then how do they have the same question paper?

Lol..
Maybe they stole their own question paper..
But first of all this headboy competition in itself is not valid..

Well as far as I know since my school days that a head boy or a head girl is chosen from the highest class in 10th if there are classes only till 10th in that school whereas here it is 12th so they have to be chosen from class 12..
I have never heard or seen two candidates from different classes battling out for a head boy post.

So this in itself is unfair

Also why only head boy competition?

Why not head girl?

for us two leaders ...1 for 6-10 classes (our school was from 6 to12)
and 1 for 11-12 classes

any one will lead the assembly daily in the morning

separately each class will have a different representatives

and these selections done by teachers ...our leads used to be best in discipline+study+sports

i still remember we used to admire them a lot ..

Naina says that last 2 years, Arjun has been the Head Boy.
So I am guessing any boy from 10th to 12th can compete.

They did not have the same question paper.Arjun and Sameer had to score well in their respective exams. Regarding Arjun knowing about Naina's paper he must have seen the paper while stealing his exam paper and since he is good in studies must have remembered the questions in her paper too.

Okay. Thanks for clearing my doubt. However, isn't it unfair to make people from different classes compete since they'll have different exams /different difficulty levels.

Well said...
This competition is absurd. The Head Boy and Head Girl are chosen by the authorities and teachers instead of students being asked who would like to take up the position and then having a competition among them. Also a Head Girl too should have been chosen.

Actually this whole competition itself is absurd since it is not what actually happens. But even if schools at that time in the said place did have such competitions then...it is not unfair as such. Anyways both of them have to give exams they just needed to work hard and try to ace their exams.

I think this idea was inspired from the movie "Student of the Year " 😆
