ishu suffered so much from such a tender age
she suffered a miscarriage and Raman dint even bother to console her ??
he had an affair with shagun and even his family knew about it even though he was married to ishu??
thankfully vandu was there for ishu during her second pregnancy
seems like Raman did pay for all the wrong that he did to ishu when shagun left him and ruhi
ishu wanted to be a dentist but couldn't tell Raman about it becoz he never spoke to her properly
good that ishu fulfilled her dream of becoming a dentist

CHAPTER-12

Raman woke up with a smile on his face. He was disappointed to not find Ishitha near him, on the bed. The memories of last night flooded his mind . Their night of togetherness was nothing less than perfect. He had never felt this right, this sated with anyone before. He had missed out on such a wonderful and sensual woman...Raman had never allowed himself to get close to her emotionally, to love her with all his heart...

Raman walked into the kitchen inhaling the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Ishitha was running about, muttering God knows what in Tamil and was busy preparing a feast out there, oblivious of his presence. A gentle smile lit Raman's face.He walked towards her and tightly hugged her from the back. Ishitha became momentarily frozen .

" Judging from the number of dishes you are preparing , I guess you are in a celebratory mood" Raman said in a husky voice.

Ishitha urgently slipped out of his arms.

"Raman last night-"

" ISHIMA , PAPA-"

Both of them heard ruhi's screeching .

"Later" Ishitha muttered and walked towards the front door .

"Mmm Bhabi , you truly have magic in your hands. Mihika was not boasting after all about her akka's culinary skills. Everything is just so yummy, I could die for your food.."

His sentiment was shared by the rest of the occupants of the breakfast table.

Aditya looked at his mother intently. Something was definitely wrong. He noticed the freshly mopped floor,the utensils gleaming in the sunlight, she had even prepared a very lavish breakfast and the day was not special in any way. When had she woken up to do all this? His mother slogged like a crazy person when she was tensed . Had Mr. bhalla said something to upset her ?

His attention shifted to his father . Mr. Bhalla was not paying much attention to Mihir chachu who was going on about a potential client he had met in the function the previous night. Even though Mr. Bhalla blamed the heavy rain and the unfamiliar roads for his absence last night, Aditya felt that there was more to the story. He noticed Mr Bhalla constantly troubling his mother, sometimes to pass the curry, sometimes for water and when she did , Mr. Bhalla held her hand for a tad longer than necessary!

"OH! Ishima, what happened to your neck?" Ruhi asked innocently.

"N..NN..Nothing Ruhi". Ishitha said while adjusting her dupatta self consciously.

Raman did not know whether to laugh or cry. The too curious Ruhi Bhalla jumped from the chair and readily removed the offending piece of cotton from her object of curiosity. She pointed the attention of the rest of them to a bright red mark adorning the embarrassed woman's neck.

"OH that. It is nothing Ru, my bangle must have accidentally scratched-"

"But Ishima , I saw two more similar marks on the other side also.." wondered Ruhi.

Two bright spots of red appeared on Ishitha's cheeks. Raman did not even look up from his plate and was eating idli with all his concentration. He stuffed his mouth with vada in an unsuccessful attempt to hide his smile.

Mihir send knowing glances between Ishitha and Raman.

" MM..Ruhi have you seen turtles?" Ishitha asked Ruhi softly

" Will you take me to see them Ishima?" Ruhi asked innocently.

"Sure"

Adithya realised that his angelic sister had unknowingly dropped nothing less than a hydrogen bomb before running away.

The horizon was a beautiful shade of orange red. Raman stood at the edge of Ishitha's rose garden , savoring the sunset. Adi and Ishitha were running along the beach. Adi who was trying to catch his mother and push her into the waters was getting frustrated at his unsuccessful attempts in doing so.

Ruhi was watching them longingly staying away at a considerable distance from the sea. His heart went out to his daughter.. No matter how much she wanted to be a part of their fun, his daughter will not be able to approach them. Ruhi was terrified of the sea and he did not have the courage to persuade her to let go of her fear, what if she ended up having another one of those terrible seizures.

" Bhai, you do know what you are doing right?" Raman was brought back to earth by Mihir's voice.

" What...what are you talking about?"

" Please don't evade, Bhai. What happened last night between the two of you is so obvious?"

" MIHIR!"

Raman's warning tone however did not penetrate Mihir's thick skull.

" Don't MIHIR me Bhai. This time around please don't hurt yourself or akka..."

"No Mihir, it is the one thing that I never want to do again, ever again in my life".

" So what changed? A few days back, you could not even stand her sight , now you are rekindling old bonds!"

" Some things changed."

Raman had decided to share all that he had come to know about their past with his family after reaching Delhi. Mihir will also have to wait.

"Are you in love Bhai?"asked an incredulous Mihir.

A soft smile grazed Raman's lips.He saw Ishitha walking towards Ruhi while Aditya watched on.

"Ruhi, come na. It is so much fun ."

"Ishima I can't. You know that I am scared of the sea." Ruhi said in a timid voice.

" Then let's play another game."

Ishitha's mischief filled voice amused all of them.

" Sure Ishima. What is it?" Ruhi asked hopefully.

" It is a new game. First and foremost you have to close your eyes, then you have to keep your feet on mine and then tightly hold both my hands, the rest I will manage, OK?"

" I have to step on your feet Ishima, what if I hurt you?"

Ruhi's concern filled question brought a smile to Ishitha's face.

" I am a big girl Roo, I will not be hurt!"

Ruhi gently placed both her feet on Ishitha's and closed her eyes, Ishitha firmly held Ruhi's palms in hers.

"Don't peek now Ruhi, do you trust me?"

"Yes Ishima."

Ishitha started walking in the direction of the sea, with Ruhi on her legs. Raman was getting more and more frightened with each passing second.

"Ishima where are we going?" asked Ruhi in a panic laden voice.

"You will know soon'

When the cool waters licked Ruhi's feet, the totally frightened girl let out a scream and hugged Ishitha's legs as if her life depended on it.

' Open your eyes ruhi, and see how beautiful the waves are..." Ishitha whispered gently.

Ruhi reluctantly opened her eyes to see a wave fast approaching her. Ishitha sat on the wet beach , hugging Ruhi tightly as the wave passed through. When the waves retreated , it washed away Ruhi's fear of sea with it. Ruhi must have found Ishitha's semi wet state funny for she let out happiness filled giggles. Aditya aware of a great oppurtunity rushed towards the giggling duo and pushed both of them in the waters. Theiur laughter was infectious...

Raman's heart went through a surge of emotions.

" What were you asking me Mihir?"

A distracted Mihir took his time answering.

" Wh ..what Bhai? OH..I asked whether you are in love?"

" The answer is yes,.yes I am in love with that beautiful, infuriating , crazy Jhansi ki Rani madrassam.

With that Raman moved towards his family to join in their water fight, leaving behind a thunder struck Mihir.
