The story does not end with this chapter although I will try to bring it closer to the climax...

If the answer for the first question is a YES and NO to the second then my heart is going to stop beating because of the immense pain of disappointment
And if the answer for the first is a NO and YES for the second then my heart is going to burst out of joy
In a First Aid training camp I was told that one should breath harder in such situataion.
I tried doing exactly that but my breath seemed to have stopped completely. 2nd symptom of Cardiac Arrest?
OMG! I need a CPR immediately.
I panicked but then I received a chest compression but it was gentle, unlike the one demonstrated at the CPR training session.
However it seemed to work as I got back to breathing.
I heard the crinkling of the bangles and I immediately recognised the person who had given me the gentle chest compression.
Now I eagerly waited for the mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.😉
Not seeing that happen I dejectedly opened my eyes.
The sight in front of me worked wonders and I forgot about the need for CPR, the lost breath and the exploding heart.
She has never looked so beautiful ever before.
It was the same beautiful girl standing before me whom I had teased seconds ago but now she had a different kind of glow on her face with the deepest blush which made her look ethereal.
A shy smile played on her lips and her big round eyes reflected love.
The love in her eyes reminded me of her confession.
I was unsure if I heard it right but the glow on her face and the shine in her eyes said that what I heard was true.
Now I knew what she had said but I wanted here it again. Again and again. I have waited one whole year to hear those magical words from her mouth.
I deserved to hear it again and again.
"Kya kaha tumne?" I asked trying to hold her but she escaped even before my arms could go around her
"Wahi jo aapne suna" she said walking backwards
"Phir se kaho" I demanded
She pursed her lips and nodded her head from right to left denying my request
"Please" I requested
She repeated her previous action, then smiled mischievously and turned her back towards me running away
I took two strides to chase her but then paused when I saw her extending her arms on either sides, lifting her chin up, closing the eyes and feeling the rain...It kind of reminded me of the lines

I folded my arms across the chest and watched the scene in front of me
Satisfied of drenching herself in the rain of love, she opened her eyes and swirled around singing
"Mastana mausam hai
Rangeen nazara"
She faced me, covered her heaving chest with her palms and continued
"Dhadkan kya kehti hai
Samjho ishara"
What? I gestured
She showed her right index finger signalling me to wait. Then put her right hand above her chest as if removing her heart from its chamber and placing the imaginary heart carefully held it in her palms
"Aaj se jaaneman
Dil hai tumhara"
She said blowing the imginary heart towards me
I lifted my hand in the air and struggled to catch the imaginary heart and enclosed it safely in mine saying
"Aaj se jaaneman
Dil hai tumhara"
I winked at her flirtatiously and she covered her face with her palms turning back.
She started to kick the flowing rainwater nervously.
I remembered how I had started loving her secretly and how I had waited impatiently throughout the year for her to reciprocate my love
I walked towards her and snaked my arms through her waist from behind saying
"Chor chori maine tumse pyar kiya hai
Maano O Jaana"
She turned her face sideways smiling to look at me. I brushed her nose with mine
"Tumne mujhko kitna beqarar kiya hai
Mushkil batana"
Her smile changed into a frown on realising that she had made me wait for so long. The cute pout like frown inspired me to annoy her more.
I now stood in front of her to get the full view of the pout and moved my thumb in front of her face from right to left
"Koi bhi to na jaane"
I slapped my forehead and moved my index finger near my temple in a circular motion
"Hum kaise deewane hue"
(Author's note: I hope the actions I am trying to indicate are clear. I don't know how to describe them in a better way. But I want you all to visualise what I am trying to imagine. Sorry if the description does not make sense)
I guess I had gone way ahead in annoying her. She put her head down and sniffed.
Oh no! I never intended to hurt her...
I need to do something quickly...
I inched closer, lifted her chin with the support of my left index finger forcing her to look at me.
The frown was still there. I placed my thumbs at the two ends of her pouty lips and extended them in to a smile saying
"Duniya Mein Na Koi
Tumse Hai Pyaara"
I then gently pulled her head and placed her right ear just above my heart and said
"Dhadkan kya kehti hai
Samjho ishara"
Pushing her back slightly, I brought her palms together and removed my heart placing it in her palms, then folding them confessed
"Aaj se jaaneman
Dil hai tumhara"
She smiled widely and placed her palms that held my heart close to her chest saying
"Aaj se jaaneman
Dil hai tumhara"
I closed the little gap between us placing my left hand on her waist and caressing her left cheek with my right hand, loosing myself in her eyes
"Ho, Chahat ka mausam hai jawaan
Khoye khoye se hum yahaan"
She looked deeply into my eyes in a dreamy trance
"Khwabon me main to kho gayi
Deewani si mai hogayi"
I chuckled.
Next moment her arms were around me holding me in a tight grip and her rested on my chest
"Lagta hai hoga nahi
Tum bin guzara"
Before I could close my arms around her she lifted her head and placed my hand on her heart
"Dhadkan kya kehti hai"
She tapped her right index finger on my temple
"Samjho ishara"
I lifted her from her waist, she clutched my shoulders for support, I swirled around slowly looking up into her eyes and said
"Aaj se jaaneman
Dil hai tumhara"
She seemed to enjoy the gesture and the rain together as she spread her arms taking in the rain and I swirled her swiftly. She sang loudly as if announcing to the world above and beneath
"Aaj se janeman
Dil hai tumhara
Aaj se jaaneman
Dil hai tumhara"
She kept singing and I kept swirling until I stumbled and thud we fell on the ground.
Thankfully I fell first and she landed on me, else she would be hurt badly.
"Raman aap theek to hain?" she asked immediately getting up
"I am ok" I said struggling to get up holding my back
"Aapke kamar me lag gayi kya?"
"Its ok...Theek hojayega"
She held out her hand for me to stand up.
"I think we should go now. Aap rukiye mai gaadi lekar ati hun" she said starting to walk away
I held her wrist stopping her "Chalo chalte hain"
"Haan Raman chalte hain. Mai gaadi laati hun"
"Chalte hain" I said indicating with my finger that we will walk
"Par aapki kamar..."
"Shhh...
Bin kuch kahe
Bin kuch sune
Hathon me hath liye
Char kadam bas char kadam
Chal do na sath mere" I told her extending my hand
"Tumsa mile jo koi rehguzar
Duniya se koun dare
Char kadam kya sari umar

she said accepting my hand
And then we walked silently hand in hand to our abode.
We were welcomed to a dimly lit bedroom, with aroma candles and flowers spread out.
Abhi and Simmi!!! They know how to tame me...
A cold breeze hit me making me shiver and sneeze loudly.
And in no time Ishita stood before me extending a towel "Apna sar poch lijiye warna apko sardi lag jayegi"
"Thank you" I said taking the towel and rubbing my hair
Aachooo I heard her sneeze ad realised she needed a towel too
"Tumhara towel kahan hai?" I asked seeing her shivering while walking towards the balcony
"Wo balcony me sukhaya tha"
"Are wo to barish me bheeg gaya hoga. Tum ye lo aur yahin ruko mai dekh kar atha hun"
"Its ok Raman. Aap use karlijiye. Mai balcony se le athi hun apna towel"
"Ishita it's an order" I said trying to sound stern
She obeyed immediately taking the towel in her hand and went towards the balcony.
And indeed I guessed it right. Her towel was soaking wet. There was no use taking it inside so I left it there and closed the balcony and the windows blocking the chilly wind from entering in.
She had dried her hair by the time I returned and she handed over the towel to me.
I took it from her and continued to dry my hair.
When I was done I found her fidgeting with the AC control on the wall near the door.
"Kya hua Ishita?"
"Heater on karne ki koshish kar rahi hun. Par kuch samajh me nahi araha" she said still busy finding a way out
I threw the towel on the bed and went towards the AC control to help her.
I placed my hand above hers and helped her find the right button.
I guess she was affected by the sudden proximity that she squirmed and in a swift turned around crashing her back into the wall.
I am clueless if its the heat from the heater or the sight of her heaving chest that sent hot waves throughout my body.
I could not take my eyes off her and I inched closer till our foreheads almost touched.
My left hand mechanically reached the door knob locking it.
Click the sound of the lock echoed in the silent room.
She looked at the door and then at me.
I do not know what she saw in my eyes that she immediately closed her eyes tightly and her forehead creased.
Ishita' POV
After having dried my hair, I thought of going to change my clothes. I was sure that Raman would not change until I did.
Raman would have to wait until I changed and his clothes were wet. I didn't want him to catch a cold.
So I went to switch on the heater before going to change.
The AC control had so many buttons and I was confused which one to hit.
And then suddenly I felt Raman's hand on mine.
A strange feeling evoked in me while a shiver ran through my spine.
I could not fathom what was going on and in a jerk I crashed into the wall turning towards him.
He came closer and locked the door.
There was a different kind of glint in his eyes which was alien to me.
I had stared into his eyes many a times before and lost in them too but right now at this moment, the emotion that they carried was something different.
The aroma of the candles and the fragrance of the flowers were not helping either.
The glint in his eyes was creating havoc in my body.
I was not feeling cold anymore but still shivering.
I shut my eyes tightly nervous about the alien feelings.
I felt his breath fan my face.
Heart raced. Breath quickened. Lips trembled.
Dhak dhak dhak dhak
Every passing second I felt myself falling into an abyss.
His nose slightly brushed mine.
Dhak dhak dhak dhak
I realised his lips were near mine.
I felt I would faint any moment now.
And then...
I felt his lips brush against my...

"Good night Ishita. Tum change karke so jao"
