My 2 cents on what I thought was a very intetesting episode!
Beau Taplin once said I live in the past, because its the only place I can find you anymore.
This was the quote that resonated in my mind when Kanak sat on the rickshaw at the start of the episode and asked to be taken to the Lassi Shop.
When she is told the shop closed two years ago, she takes a second to digest it and then makes the realisation that she must also close down her past.
As humans we often spend the majority of our life reminiscing and thats exactly what Kanak has been doing. Her heart calls out for the Uma she knew, and she very much still wishes to see him before her again, but she can't and she realises that now.
Whilst on the other end Meera is happy that Kanak is out of their life, but she fails to realise that although she may not be directly in their life, she is still Uma's life, she taught him so many things, without her he would probably be dead by now.
Yet Meera still lives in hope Uma will come to love her the way he loves Kanak, and that will never happen.
Beau Taplin also said, I hope you never steal someone's heart just to fill a hole or heal a hurt. A person's heart is not a raincoat you slip on only when it storms.
Thats exactly what Meera has tried to do, for just over two years she has tried to win Uma's heart for her own selfish reasons, she doesnt love him because as my mother so fondly says, sometimes when you love someone, you have to let them go.
Uma let Kanak go to save her and Suman from Meera's wrath.
Kanak said to Uma she did not want to break his relationship with Meera, she did not return to get him back, although it hurts she let him go.
Yet Meera has not let Uma go.
Sometime after Kanak has agreed to marry again, Bhaboo says no to all the men in the pictures, wanting to find a perfect match for Kanak.
But Kanak's perfect match resides elsewhere.
"Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji", although the sun and night sky are opposites, without one, the other would fail to exist, Uma and Kanak have many differences but need eachother to be whole.
Kanak then takes a picture of Uma in the paper and says it can be any man, just not him. The pain in her heart is still very much there and trying to move on is wrong, because she isnt ready. Moving on in a relationship when she cant give her heart away and this is where Kanak's mistake lies, she wants to hurt Uma like he hurt her, but she forgets that she may also hurt someone else in this game
Kanak arrives at Meera's office, Meera hopes Kanak is heartbroken, but like the strong woman she is, she holds herself together.
Meera talks about cream for fair skin for the poor to make profit for Uma.
Kanak retorts stating we cannot teach people that beauty is only skin deep.
That is true, because if the world was blind, how would you still be beautiful?
The heart is what keeps you beautiful, looks fade and Meera fails to recognise that.
After some more arguing Uma tells Meera to stop, and asks Kanak to stop.
The difference here is he knows Kanak is a strong woman, he has never wanted to get in her way of success, to him Meera is just an immature, selfish woman.
Kanak is strong, mature and selfless and he will never order her around
Kanak receives a call from Bhaboo which she puts on speaker, and with a smirk on her face, keeps eye contact with Uma.
She is letting him know she is moving on.
But as Uma already pointed out, Kanak will do something that will make them all be quiet.
But when your reasoning behind an action is wrong, your intention is never correct.
She wants revenge and yes, she is getting it, but at what cost?
Lastly, the precap, Uma asks Kanak not to make a decision quickly.
Which if we look back, when Uma and Kanak were first together and they got caught in the rain in the episode where Shiv was given ciggarettes by Maasi Sa, Uma said she makes decisions in haste
And that she does. I guess some things will never change
Kanak says its her life and she is moving on, he should to, throwing his own words back at him.
But as we all know, fighting fire with fire will ensure you get burnt.
Then Arpita's brother comes sauntering in with a "Pretty girl" and Kanak turns to face him.
But as Kanak so fondly told Meera earlier on, looks arent everything, but I can bet my life on the fact she wont tell him the same thing
