Before you knew..........

Hi all,

I have a question: Before you knew that Snape was in fact good (DH), did you like his character and if so why and if not why not?

I'll start- I didn't like the character at all, and even though he turned out to be good in the end, I still find it a bit difficult to really trully love the character. I can say however, that I do understand Snape a little better now.

So let me know your perspective on the matter!

well... to tell you the truth... i absolutely loathed Snape in the beginning.... but after i found out the truth about him, my feelings only thawed a little towards him.... i still hate him because of all the misery he put Harry through... but i do understand why he did so... even so.... he's still greasy-haired Snivellus! 😆

I did, because something inside me told me he wasn't all bad, like he was only mean to Harry so Harry would be strived to do better..

but I always hated his hair, it makes me wanna gag..😆

umm ya actually when he took off points from gryffindor just bcoz harry made a little mistake in his potion unlike crabbe and goyle i got really angry i mean that is so not fair but even after i got to know he was a good guy which was bfore reading DH i still couldnt understand why he hated harry so much???
can sumone explain plzz

he hated harry because he was james potter's son and sirius black's godson.... they were the two people he hated most at school... and he tried to protect him because he was lily's son... the only girl he ever loved.... and harry was a living reminder that lily could never be snape's but was james's. hope that cleared up your doubt....😳

Good question! 😃Actually,I had mixed feelings towards the character.I think I hated Snape's character because he was the meanest teacher at school( & also kept reminding me of this really awful teacher that I myself had at school 😆 which is the true reason I found myself disliking Snape I guess 😛 ) But I have to admit that I really loved reading Snape's scenes in the books (Those are some of the parts that I read over & over again even now😃)because he was so horrid & nasty & came out with such sarcastic comments,for instance ;"I don't take cheek from anyone Potter,not even the Chosen One", "I would expect nothing more sophisticated from you Ronald Weasley,the boy so solid he cannot apparate six inches...", " 'Harry Potter's secret heartache'..dear dear Potter..what is ailing you now?", "Well,I think I'd better separate the three of you so you can keep you minds on your potions rather than your tangled lovelives"😆, "So the train isn't good enough for the famous Harry Potter & his faithful sidekick Weasley.Wanted to arrive with a bang did we boys?"

Also, I absolutely loved Snape's scenes in the movies largely due to the brilliance of Alan Rickman's acting & his perfect portrayal of the character 👏 👏👏

After getting to know Snape's true story however I think I fell head over heels in love with him 😆

Actually even before we came to know snape's reality...I had a VERY STRONG SUSPICION that he might be on the good side....so i didnt hate him that much lol.....i hate draco and lucius much more 😆 😆

I was suspecious about his character from the beginning but hopefully he was not completely negative 😉.
