I am choosing to look at it in a positive manner ..For Ani his relationship with Jhanak is a very pure and sacred bond...he can't think of her in this light ever even in his worst nightmare..but what he said also is not a right thing...and Jhanak needed to give him the wake up call regarding the consequences of his actions...that he probably failed to see in his love....
Aur i believe makers must have seen this sudden character assassination of Ani by calling him two timer, womaniser and mistress thing everywhere..If we as viewers feeling so bad about it..
